| Oops, I don't know why I said Nike, considering that I didn't have any idea who was going to sign him to a shoe deal. I guess it was just the first thing that came to mind when I was writing that post. Also, I think the Hummer was closer to 100k after all the TV's and other stuff was added on to it. |

both Nike and Addias have 50 mil on the table for a shoe contract.
I think the only person to blame is, his stupid a$s self. He kewn all the contervasy that went down when he shows up in the H2, and if it was or wasn't a gift. Then a week after it all gets settled down and he's cleared of the charges, he goes and does somthing stupid like this. I think even if he gets a lawyer and appels the decison and if he pays for the jersey (neither him or his mom has a job, how can they afford it) or gives them back, I still don't think he should be allowed to play.
He's mom is the second worse person out there. After one of his games on ESPN, they showed her after the game saying, where going to the bank, where going to the bank. What a bit$H. And she also got in agurment with a lady at James school because she told the lady that he is not going to pay for a parking pass. She said, Who built this nice gym for you, you have all of this becasue of James and he's not buying a parking pass.
It's gonna be bad buisness is all i can say. Something will happen. _________________

I agree the kid can play... for a highschooler. Anyone out there remember when kobe, T-nac, and KG came out? They were OK.... not a superstar by anymeans. Now that they have some experience under them they are superstars. But none of them were the shiznit when they made the jump. I don't think this kid will be the shiznit either. He can play, I'm not dennying that... I just do not see him being a star in the NBA yet. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. Look at Amare Stoudemire. He's a star and it's his rookie year. He came straight from High School. The kid ranks in the top 15 in 8 statistical categories this season.
I wouldn't blaim the kid for taking the money. If someone offered you some free swag you would take it and not think twice about it effecting you athletic eligibility.
In my Econ classes we talked about HS athletes going straight to the pros. Using economic reasoning it makes more sense for the kids to go pro than it does for them to go to college. Take the guarenteed money and go to college later. Once he signs on that dotted line the contract money even if he gets injured will be paid to him. My friend Ronny was drafted by the Rockies. He blew out his shoulder in spring training and never made it. Guess what? He still got his million dollars. |

regardless of what happens now i dont think this is gonna be the last problem that james faces. james is gonna get rich real quick and hes gonna find himself in various problems cuz he doesnt know how to handle it imo.
blame james, his mom, his attorneys, lawerys, advisers, store owner, and EVERYONE that is involed. everyone wants to get in on his future stardom, so they give him what he wants NOW so they can stay associated with him in the future. think about it though- what difference does it really make? no matter what happens hes going first round to the nba, and he'll be rich. im not saying its ok, thats just what is happening. |

Few rookies, if any, can be considered superstars. Most players that come out of high school are not necessarily strong enough or experienced enough to play very well when they first make it into the NBA. Also, none of the players you named averaged even 30 minutes per game in their rookie seasons. Lebron is arguably more talented than any of these players were in high school and as long as he can stay healthy, he should be very, very good.
Amare Stoudamire is definately not a superstar. He is an up and coming player who will be great within a year or two, but he isn't one yet. To me, a superstar is one of the very best in the league, like some one in the top 5 at their position, besides center of course. |

Amare Stoudemire ranks up there in as one of the top players in the league. He is by far the best rookie straight from High School. The previously listed rookies from High School did not perform anywhere near Amare's level as rookies. That includes Kobe and Garnett who took close to 4 years to mature into superstars. The stats don't lie. Amare is one of the best players in his position. I mean he almost averages a double double with 12.5 points and 9.1 rebounds. Given he doesn't have great points per game but the Suns offense is run through Shawn Marion and Stephon Marbury who are outright superstars.
Ranks #11 in the NBA in Rebounds Per Game(9.1)
Ranks #17 in the NBA in Free Throw Attempts(289.0)
Ranks #3 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds(165.0)
Ranks #3 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds Per Game(3.4)
Ranks #16 in the NBA in Defensive Rebounds(279.0)
Ranks #10 in the NBA in Total Rebounds(444.0)
Ranks #12 in the NBA in Double-doubles(18.0)
Ranks #15 in the NBA in Free Throw Attempts Per 48 Minutes(9.11)
Ranks #7 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds Per 48 Minutes(5.2)
Ranks #13 in the NBA in Rebounds Per 48 Minutes(14.0) |

I could probably list at least 10 power forwards who are currently better players than him. I'm pretty sure all of these players are power forwards.
Chris Webber
Tim Duncan
Kevin Garnett
Dirk Nowitzki
Elton Brand
Jermaine O'Neal
Shareef Abdur-Rahim
Karl Malone
Pau Gasol
Kenyon Martin
Antoine Walker
Troy Murphy of the Golden State Warriors has similar stats to Stoudamire's. Would you consider him a great player? I certainly wouldn't.
What do you think makes a superstar anyway? |

| If Marion or Marbury weren't on the same team as Stoudemire he would have a higher point per game average. The guys you listed are all franchise players who have the offense set up to get them the ball. Marion should also be on your list of top Power Forwards. |

I know Marion is a great player, but my list was of POWER forwards. Marion isn't one.
Marbury and Marion only average a combined 40+ points per game. There is plenty of room for Stoudamire to get more points if he were more skilled. Anyway, most of the opposing team's defense is placed on Marbury and Marion which should actually help Stoudamire get open and have better scoring oppourtunities. |

Amare is a good player, but he is not one of the best power fowards in the league. He still has a lot of skills he needs to work on. Another quality of a top NBA player is to make people on their team better players, I don't think that Amare is quite there yet. It takes awhile for a rookie to get used to the NBA espically right out of high school. Kobe, TMAC, and KG it took them awhile to blossom into superstars. You rarely ever see a rookie that is superstar material, after only 1 year in the league! Oh BTW Rasheed Wallace should also be on that list of top PFs!!! |

| in my opinion, i believe that james has been exploited for over a year now by the media and his school and has not seen a dime for it. why is it ok for these organizations and corporations to take advantage of his skills but not lebron himself? i am not a big fan of his mother by any means...she comes across as being very ignorant. another thing that is kind of related is that college atheletes should be paid also. some college atheletes are responsible for millions of dollars coming to their schools and in return their colleges pay for their schooling....that comes out to be around what 30 grand at the most. gee trading 30k for multi millions seems like a pretty raw deal. one last thing is that anyone who says these atheletes should go to college and are foolish for going to the pros are full of it. if i came to them with 20 million dollars in a brief case and offered to give it to them they wouldn't say no |

I guess what I'm saying is Amare is not going to take as long as the other "straight from High School" players. He is proving himself and a big threat. I think Stoudemire should be rookie of the year. Lebron won't make as big of an impact IMO.
I'm a little frusterated with the NBA right now. My team is playing poorly with C-Webber on the bench, despite Peja averaging 29 points in the last 5 games. We've got the mavericks on Tues and after the royal beating they took in Sacramento they'll want blood. Good thing the All-Star break is coming. |

| Good, we finally agree on something! Amare could be ROTY, but right now I would favor Yao, since he has slightly better stats, with the exception of rebounding, and is shooting the ball better. Caron Butler could win it too if he continues to improve. I heard Yao is getting tired though and with a bunch of games remaining, his numbers could take a hit. |

I think the ROTY is between Yao and Amare. It is a pretty hard decision, both of them deserve it IMO. We will have to see how they finish out the season, it come down to whose team is doing better if they both continue to play this well.
I'm actually enjoying this NBA season because my Blazers are finally playing as a team and are catching up to the Kings for 1st place in the Pacific! Go Blazers! |

I find it hard to believe because he's an athlete who doesn't have to worry about grades since he isn't going to college and is about to make millions based primarily on his athletic skills and not so much on his thinking skills.
Maybe he gets special treatment from teachers or his school grades really easy and he takes easy classes.

it all about the bennies, and if you think about it, the school is capitalizing off of James, not the other way around.. so..... it should be the one that ineligable. But i still think it shouldn't be allowed to play _________________

The shame is the colleges make the money on the teams and the players. The players make nothing at college. If they don't go pro that's the end of it. The College makes Millions on that poor player and he goes off to work as the rest of us.
Pro ball players are over payed. How to end this STOP WATCHING AND GOING TO THE GAMES. Money talks! Stop talking and see what happens to the prices. _________________ Hard Work/Work Hard = SUCCESS |

Maybe he likes high school? Maybe he likes learning the things he's learning now? Maybe he's just a person that knows how to study well? That's hard to believe because he's an athlete and goin' pro next year?
Give the guy some credit. _________________ my demo reel

Dude,
He has been getting paid since last year. last summer when james hurt his wrist, he was flown out to chi town to have MJ's doctor look work on his wrist like 2x a week. So lets see the facts:
-A person living in subsidised (sp?) housing, is being flown to chicago to have his wrist worked on.
- the same person living in goverment housing is now driving an H2 with tv, PS2, dvd, etc.
-the same person has an attorney on retainer, and a full staff of bodygaurds
-this same person has a full collection of replica "old school" jersey's, how many people already knew that he actually had the wes jersy before, this was his second.
In short, he should have his eligability taken away from him. He has already been paid, plain ad simple. get this season over with and jsut go to the NBA where you can average your + or -7 pts. and do your -20 min. a game. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4.
