Any ideas on what would be the cheapest way to do that. Driving it myself would be the cheapest, but Im looking for other options. Thought about having it shipped out there. Any ideas on who to contact for that? Cost?? Any other ideas?

I had a trucking company pick up an x-star in louisianna and ship it to seattle...cost me 1k. Call up some freight companys and they can sometimes put a boat and trailer on to fill the load.....

When would you be making this happen? I'm going to have some extra time on my hands come the end of October.

Well, this coming monday I am flying to Queensland from Tasmania, purchasing my new boat (Woohoo!), then going on the hunt for a used car to tow the sucker back. A 1983 era Commadore should do just fine. Then I'm going to tow it to Melbourne, and put it on the ferry back to Tassie. Once I get home I'll flog the car off to someone and I figure the whole trip will cost me about $1200, although $550 of that is for the ferry trip.

Compare this to $2000 to get it shipped, plus I wouldn't get a trip to Queensland!

Good luck bro.

criminally_minded - you oughta explain to our US friends that you are in Oz. Most of 'em won't have a clue where Melbourne and Queensland are! Sorry guys, but it's true!

NVS

I was checking it out for someone who is interested in purchasing my boat that't for sale but he lives in San Diego so we're trying to decide how to get it there. He's very interested but the added cost for shipping is definately not worth it. I've talked to 4 companies and all have had quotes over $2000. We've discussed meeting halfway but, that's prob a last resort.

If you could cross the Rockies, I might be able to help but by November when I would be available, it might be a little sketchy weather wise.
