more thoughts on nor-cal show, comments on waketv, etc.

well, i work at the marine max in oakland but i am from the north bay so i may be switching to the santa rosa store soon (within 1 week) ......
I just started selling boats at the show....completely "green"..as my co-workers were saying, i have gone to cow palace in the past and enjoyed the layout, i did think that wakeboats/ tournament boats should have the wakeboards and skiis (barf) all in one building....

about the wake tv deal.......did any of you guys see it ? these guys had huge equipment and all kinds of stuff but friends am. video that he made for solbound (viewable on wakeboarder.com) was way better and that was with digi cam from good guys....I am not trying to bag on these guys cause i am sure they worked hard but i lost interest after 2 minutes...too much sitting, not enough riding...the guys that they featured were obviously rippers but only got to see a little bit (first guy at delta did cleanest whirly ever!) and then it was back to sitting on shore talking about lame stuff.....the boat review was not on the promo dvd that they gave away, interested to see that one !

I was at the show almost every day except for when i had to go to doctor for her to check on the metal plates installed in my head (freak dirtbike accident, almost died....thank you god i am still here to ramble on!) so i got a good feel for the show ! thanks for reading

pros at the show are all really cool, met Cobe, Ruck, and Nelson kind of remembered me from contests at bel aqua...that made me feel pretty damn cool !!!!!!

I have mixed opinions about the show itself, and gotyatv......I think both could be better.

Just so you know Wakeboard TV and WAKE TV are two different entities from two different states. It would be best not to mix the two up!

may i ask what video you are talking about? i mean the am vid for souldbound?
from my two experiences with them there are a lot of things that i would like to personally see change. they have a great idea that CAN and SHOULD bring wakeboarding and wakeskating etc to more people. i am not personally impressed with much of anything that has to do with the show (and i, along with other people have let them know this). lets hope things improve when they go to more locations.
that being said i hope that everyone watches the show and enjoys it. last thing i wanna see is that everyone hate the show for one of a million reasons, then the show will be cancelled cuz nobody will watch it.

you can check out the videos on this website, see towable funbox, see solbound team video, see any thing on this website that features solbound and it was filmed edited and distributed by people i ride with...I am not saying i am cool, i am saying that these guys are good and can make anything happen on video with their macs and p.c.'s all with footage shot from one of three varying qualities of cameras.....dv, and digi 8.......
this sport is interesting to people that have never even been in a boat !!!
let's keep it that way ....after all IT IS JUST SNOWBOARDING WITH A V8 ENGINE INSTEAD OF A BIG MOUNTAIN.....oh yeah, a lot less clothes too

maybe talking about this is counterproductive, but i doubt it !!

Don't get me wrong. I do believe that someone could make a good television show about wakeboarding, even these guys. All I'm saying is that from what I saw of what they actually filmed at the boatshow, and what video clips I have seen of the Delta shoot......mmmm, I'm just not sure the show has that much going for it at the time. Maybe, the video they shoot for later shows will be better because I won't be so biased like I am about what they shot in Nor-Cal. I don't know, I will probably watch it to see what the finished product is like?? Who knows, maybe I'm totally wrong.....

true. on a positive note they have only completed the first show. there are still many shows to be filmed in locations outside of cali (texas is next for them i think). the second show is only partially complete and will have the interview with jon of Nvert (from the boat show). i assume that the second show will also have the B-52 part since they already have a tour of the malibu factory in the first show. it would be stupid to do both in the same one. the delta shoot will only be like 5 mins long and will be in the first show. Im pretty sure that after they have a few shows under their belt at several locations they will have a better idea of what to do.
the problems i saw with what they have done is that they apparently tried to represent the delta shooting only for one weekend. and you know about the boat show. they put themselves in a bad position and that is why people that have been around the scene for awhile dont like their footage. thats just my opinion.

markjohnson - cool. the reason why i asked was cuz i thought you were talking about an amateur at the wakeboard tv shoot. ill check out the vids
