|

Hello everyone, I am new here so bare with me. OK, well I have had a Ski Nautique for the last few years and it is time to upgrade. I, personally, have been looking around lately at new boats, and have narrowed my choices down to a 2004 SAN TE, Supra SSV GG edition, and either a Malibu VLX or LSV (I was hoping to get some coments on the two Malibu's wakes....and the rest of the boats for that matter) I have no problem with spending a little extra $$$ so money is not an issue. I, like everyone here, is seeking the best wake, and quality of boat possible so give me all of your comments so I can make my decision. I have been getting a lot of opinions from my friends in college but they just think that if it cost more, its better, which is often true, but I want to hear all of your thoughts. Thank you very much for your time and help me out.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of those boats you listed. Do a search on this site and you will find tons of info about each one. Let us know what you decide on! _________________ My opinion is my opinion!

I am really looking into the Bu's now and I am getting confused...why do all of the pros ride behind VLX's if they seem to be inferior to the LSV?.....and thanks for the info Shawn _________________ We ride together

I would recommend test driving the boats and then see what one you like the best. They are all great boats with great wakes. I own an Air Nautique and I like it a lot, it throws a nice wake, has a lot of storage for ballast, and is a lot of fun. I know that if I was making that decision I would go with the SAN, they are great looking boats with a huge wake and Correct Craft definitly makes quality boats. Good luck on your boat search |

Thanks, I actually have tested all of the boats except the SAN due to the fact that there isn't even a dealer within 150 miles of here but I have seen them at shows. But I am really curious what the difference is between the VLX and LSV, besides pure size. I want the best wakeboarding specific boat, not a family or party boat....although parties are nice....but the question of why the pros ride behind VLX's and not LSV's (at least none that i have heard of). | vlx is targeted to be their best wake boat. It's hull smaller which means less weight to get a bigger wake. |

WOW, that's something new, i thought that more weight, overall, meant bigger wakes. Elaborate on that... _________________ We ride together

Yes,the vlx is targeted toward's boarding that is why all the pro's use them. Don't base your buy on "because the pro's use it". You can not go wrong with the vlx or the SAN 210. You have tested out the vlx and I would go test out the SAN210 and see which boat YOU like best. That is alot of $$ and 150 mile's is not really that far to know that you made a good choice!! The ssv in my opinion does not even compare to the other boat's you listed. The interior is plush and nice. The control's are easy to get to. The boat has good room but I think the wake is not even on the same page as the other boat's you listed. _________________ If you wanna make it,

| I have a Malibu Sportster LX, and I love it. I've been in a couple of wakesetters and they are the best boats out there. You can't go wrong with the VLX or the LXV. |

| Yes more weight equels bigger wake. Smaller hulls require less weight than bigger to get the same size wake. Does that make since? |

| with a smaller hull, it takes less weight to put it deeper in the water, and thus make a bigger make. so yes, BIGMAC is made sense |

oh ok, thanks bigmac and the rest of you guys....i went up to redding today to check out the SAN 210s and they are really nice, but i do think that i am going to go with the VLX(with all options...especially the wedge). I would like to thank all of you guys for the help in choosing my new boat.

| I have the wedge on my boat, and it really isnt a big deal (sorry to burst your bubble). It does slighlty increase the size of the wake, but not substantially. The safety of it is great though - you cant sink your boat with overweighting. Good choice with the Malibu! |

| using water ballast the boat won't sink any easier than without. Water has neutral boyancy, throw a 600lb sac in the lake and it won't sink straight to the bottom like 600lbs of sand or lead. USCG weight limit placards tell the maximum amount of wieght with negative boyancy the boat can hold and be completly filled with water and still stay afloat. |

so if that applies, i can load the boat with as many ppl as it says it can hold, then add the stock ballast, or are u saying that i can add ADITIONAL ballast to the stock and the peeps? _________________ We ride together

You should be able to add as much water as you want as long as your negative bouyancy(lead, people, equipement etc...) does not go over the weight limit. The limit is the most amount of negative bouyancy the boat can hold while completley filled with water. _________________ www.krookedminds.com

What about the X2 wake? You said you don't want a party boat and you're really looking for a wakeboard boat. The SAN and X2 will give you a far better wake than the VLX. The VLX has a little more room and storage but doesn't quite compare to the other two for boarding wakes.
Out of 5, I would give the wake SAN 4.3
X2 4.5
VLX 4.0
SSV 3.7 _________________ You get what you pay for |

The Supra Launch SSV Gravity Games Edition is a great boat. You should check it out. It can throw a wake that can easily comapre to the other makers. Plus with other boats like mastercraft, malibu, and natique is that your paying for the brand name. It's a boat that the best in the world. _________________ supraboatfan |
