My tach all of a sudden stopped working. The light at night quit working at the same time. All of this happened while trailering the boat.

Is there like one main "hot lead" going to this gauge that just came loose? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm guessing but suspect the tach is driven by electrical impulses from the ignition and will need a wire for that pupose. The lamp will be a separate DC feed. Both need an earth so if both are not working, look for an earthing problem on the gauge. If that's OK, trace the supply leads back to the engine/wiring harness and look for a faulty connection or broken wire.

Both the tach signal and the lighting share something in common, GROUND. Double check the wiring.
