question on new handle care

i think i read once in waterski mag that u should shampoo your new handle after you get it (to soften it or something). has anyone ever heard of this?

i dont put any type of substance that could lubricate the handle. hard to hold on to. ever got soap on one right before you ride? look at your source- waterskiiers! can't be trusted

anyway doinflipsdavis the tip came from shaun murray. it was like 20 tips for wakeboarders and waterskiers. this is only my second handle so i was wondering. my first one was already pretty soft. thanks for the advice anyway.
