Well you have the flat decks, and the concave decks. Concave is nicer, but much more expensive. you'll prefere concave in the long run. Now you just got to find the right size for you. 107-112-116. (The 107 is the byerly and the 112 and 116 are the catalysts)

Spend the extra money and get a real wakeskate(wood deck) not a mini wakeboard.

I rode the Catalyst this weekend and I thoght it was disaponting, flexed way to much and the concave was minimal. I would check out the Mutiny Endurance 41.5" or 43" . The 43" I have is far and away the best deck I have ever rode, stiff as hell for alot of ollie pop, wide on the tips to help with the heel/toe drag on most skates. It is also center weighted for a smoother spin on shuvits.Another plus is that the Mutinys are made in the USA not Taiwan.

I agree with Todd Armstrong the catalyst was to light and I did not like the concave either. The Gate is just an absoulte Joke in itself.

Stick with A wood deck.

yes but what were trying to tell him is that there are better skates out there, and that he may not want to limit himself to just one company.

I get a wicked discount on Hyperlite better than anyone else can, but I paid for the Mutiny because it was better. I got a great deal but I get Pro-form on Hyperlite boards and my choice was the Mutiny beacuse I would rather ride the vastly better skate.

I got the foam and I think it is a little more forgiving and it doesn't scrapes up my boat and my shins. My wife is afraid of griptape so she will ride the foam top. The griptape is great but it is really just preference, I think I will get the grip tape on my next Mutiny
