some of my friends just scored a box like this. i think its called a slaughter box? i may be wrong. but does anyone else have one and how did you float it? the dude that gave it away was using it for skateboarding but his parents got tired of it taking up room.
it looks like this but only has the slider in the middle. |

| i figured we'd use drums to float it and something to hold it in place. how many drums do you think? and what else needs to be done to it to make it suitable for water? |

| my guess would be as good as yours for how many drums... maybe 6 one on each corner then two in the middle. if its made out of wood definitly coat it with something so it wont fall apart |

| It originally wasn't called the "Slaughterbox", interestingly enough. It didn't really have a name, so it was called the Slider Box. When it was introduced, Bruce Robson (aussie) was announcing the Pro Tour and VTC events. He threw in a pretty heavy australian accent, and everyone heard Slider as slaughter...so it stuck. I have to admit, though, the name is pretty apt as I've seen many people get worked on it. Leslie Kent has taken some nasty spills on it, among others. |

| hey wes i would use styrafoam blocks to float it instead of barrels. that's what we use at the ski ranch and i think that the foam is more stable than barrels. i don't know where to get that stuff from but i could find out if you'd like |

Kai,
Yep! That's one of the times...Malibu Just Ride in High Point, NC. She charged the slaughterbox like crazy one time, and just got beat...slid down the flat part on her face. She was OK, and on her next two passes she did the exact same thing...but she still charged it hard on each attempt.
I don't know if you remember it, but also at the Malibu Just Ride stop there Daniel Watkins slid down the top part on his face...I got a close up photo of it with a camera I had mounted on the slider and it ran across two pages in WBM =P. That box has issued some serious beatings... |

How about Darin Shapiro's wrist gash on the PT in Indy last year? You will have to anchor that sucker down too! _________________ My opinion is my opinion!

Yeah man, they are called slaughters. I have one I float it with old milk bottles and foam. I just got it from the dump and it works great. take my suggestion and use it. |

shouldn't it be called a fun box? that's what they're called in skateboarding and that's where the idea was taken from. Slaughter box is totally cheesy. crazy kids... _________________ J.L.A. Is Snowboarding
