So I'm in the DECA club at school (marketing) and we were talking about which Advertising campaigns were good and which ones sucked....
And it certainly was an interesting discussion....

So let's see what the forums think.....
Which Marketing Campaigns do you think are good, and which ones do you think just draw you AWAY from the companies product......

As for me,

I really dislike the new Arby's slogon "What are you eating today?" it's very un-original and their old one "Give into your grown up tastes" was really good....

One I really like are the Best Buy ads, and the M&M ads

Buy the current (August) issue of big Brother Skateboarding, it has an hilarious article called 'I won an Emmy and sh*t'.

About a skater who won an emmy for an add he did.

I think the "Red Bull gives you wings" commercials are very effective. And the 7UP ones pretty much all suck.

As much as I hate the skunkiess of heiniken, their comericals do rock. The x-mas shopping one, jay-z one, those are all good. I think overall the beer comercials has the best ones. The bud light ones, miller light, all of them has some great mass apeal.
Some of my favorite other ones are the Lance Armstrong Nike commercials where they show him ridding in the rain, testing him and he then says "Peeople always want to know what I'm on. I'm on my bike, 7 days a week."

I think the absolutely worst ones have to be the Old Navy commercials.

I have worked in advertising and marketing for 15 years...there is soooo much crap out there it's not even funny.

My learning - the good ones don't try to say too much and end up saying a whole lot.

-ESPN has been on a roll - the add with the boxer and the anchor (Kenny Mayne)toasting pop tarts always cracks me up - talking about Pokemon and Digimon.

- Oh yeah and When Dan Patrick clocks stone cold Steve Austin (who is studying - sitting in a chair) with the metal chair - that kills me. Stone cold goes" Thanks man - can I have another..."

In terms of good Print advertising- Absolut Vodka - they have been running with the same campaign for god knows how long...

Here's one more for ya - a lot of people out there think Bose speakers are good - Bose is a marketing company - not an audio company - most Bose speakers are better used as door stops - Bose Blows - no highs or lows? - Must be Bose. They spend Big $ advertising - any many consumers are sucked in...

Old Navy and Kmart commercials are cheesy, I don't like them.
I like the beer commercials and got milk ones.

bose isn't that bad as long as you like your sound pre-processed, anytime someone sticks an equalizer in a speaker to make it "sound better" you gotta wonder.

the best commercials are the volkswagen ones and the espn ones there always funny. esp. the one where the guy licks the car that one is the best.

and the nike ones are always good. And i just change the channel for the old navy ones.

The dell commercials are effective but they get annoying

I hate the Old Navy ones too, they're just so annoying. I too always changed the channel.
The old Bud radio adds were cool (The ones with all the tributes) they made me laugh.

Heineken's Keg Can ad campaign is one of the best campaigns I have ever seen. "It goes places regular kegs can't"
