Boards good for small wakes???

What are some really good boards for samller wakes (ride behind an outboard)??? Right now I have a '00 Belmont 34...I was thinking about getting a Motive 140, Bylerly 142, Premier 140, or an Absolute 140 (all 2003 models). What boards would probably be better for a smaller wake? I can't demo and I've never riden a 3-stage rocker before. Thanks!!!

yea if you got a board with more rocker that will help some but if you can throw in some weight

I ride a byerly 142, and I love it. However, if your wake is pretty small you may want to look into something with a continuous rocker, the "boot" of three stage will do you no good if there is nothing to boot of of. How small is your wake? Perhaps the premier would be your most viable option, it is sort of a compromise between three stage and continuos rocker, plus you have the option of riding finless. I'm afraid I cannot comment on the absolute, I've never riden one.

I used to have some pics of our boat's wake, but they got deleted...bummer. Well anyway, I'm 5'11" and the wake is probably about mid-calf or just below on me and usually the wake is fairly steep for an outboard. Nothing like the X-Star or Air Nautique I've riden behind before....oh, to have a wakeboard boat Confused

it all depends on your riding style but from what i do know i would suggest a board with a lot of continuous rocker and wide.

deffinately demo before you buy if you can. i never heard a complaint about the premier in my life til i rode one. It just wasnt a good board for me.

go for a fast board that has a lot of surface area... so big board aroud 140 or a little more would be good... not too much rocker though cuz it won't do anithing but slow you down on small wakes

i would say a Premier definetly i got the 135 and i also ride behind an outboard... maybe go for the 140 though, definetly try and get some weight in the boat though, outboard is not the end of the world... try get an extended pylon that would help too...

A 19' Glastron deep-V with a 175hp outboard. I've thought about putting a sack down in the ski locker since we hardly ever have skis in the boat anymore. I'd really like to go the extended pylon or tower route...any suggestions there?

Sounds like I might be looking into the Premier, too bad there are NO places around here to demo (unless I just haven't found them yet) Sad

I've got a few more ideas for you. I live in Gahanna (east side of columbus) come early march I'm hoping to put the boat in the water, so if you give me a e-mail we're always willing to take another rider. and our wake is more than sufficient. good luck board shopping. another thing: I've asked several local shops about demos, and they all laughed at me. including sun fun "Who would want to buy a board thats been ridden?"

Yeah that's the problem I've been having with finding places to demo. The only place I've ever found that allows demos was Nickayle Lake Sports in Newark, but as far as I can tell they aren't in buisness anymore. I've been to Sun Fun a couple times and I just don't really like the atmoshere in there. Anyway, thanks for the offer. Where do you usually ride? I live on Buckeye Lake. Well, hopefully we can get together sometime.

Have you guys tried NoWake marine in Cincinnati? I am almost positive they have demos available.
