I am not completly new to wakeboarding, I did it all last year, used my buddy's O'brien Blunt with sport morph bindings, horrible setup, and now its time to get my own. i have a 500-550 dollar budget. anybody have any good suggestions? I will be riding behind a nice boat to learn so any suggestions would help Cool

I'd go with something in the belmont line. The boards are way forgiving and easy to learn, but with the rocker they will go big when yor ready. Also you can really customize the boards ride with the fin setup. As far as bindings if you go with HL get some with the pro footbed and you cant go wrong.

You can get a 2001 byerly finless with 2002 byerly bindings at www.grizzly-sports.com for $340. That is a sick sick combo.

Otherwise, all of last years Hyperlite line is sub $300 at the same site, combined with the last years Byerlys for $190, Belmonts for $250, or Parks for $270, you can top of the line gear and stay within your budget.

Good luck!

Stu

go for whatever perform but something that is forgiving and easy to ride... so that means not a byerly... something like a HL motive, belmont, or premier... or Liquid force trip... you'll get used to those kind of board easier and they can perform too...

I'd recommend you look into the Trip, as well, or the new Team board from Liquid Force. Also, the Blindside Assassin would be a good choice, along with the O'Brien Player. All of these boards will have pretty solid tracking and excellent pop. Email me if you're interested in some package prices with bindings.

Wait till the summer and demo some stuff from a local shop. All of the stuff that has been suggested is good but everyone has a different style. I personally dont like the Byerly board but I know several people who swear by it. You can usually rent the stuff for the weekend then your rental applies to purchase. Having said that if I had to pick something for ya, I would get a Liquid Force Evo and probably some belmonts or the new O'brien Ion bindings.

I ride a Byerly and love it but I have ridden the Trip and found it super easy to ride and go huge on. I hear the belmont is nice too.

I would have to say a belmont, they're the most forgiving boards but they'll still take you as far as you want to go.

Sign up for a demo program with your local shop and ride as many different boards as you can. Also listen to the recommendations from friends. That is how I found my baby!! (Premier 135)
