It is too bad Waketech went under, back in the they were industry leaders.
They had some of the best boards, and a stacked team.
How many of you rode/ride a Waketech board?
I "Grew Up" on a 1997 WakeTech flight 143, it was my first twin tip.

Wake Tech is actually a company, if I would have known that I would have used a different user name _________________ I Love The Smell of Butta In The Morning |

Wake Tech was the O.G. Rode the first Flight 69, then the purple Byerly Pro. Wake Tech's twin tips completely changed riding. Watch High Wake Drifters. Byerly and Gator were paving the way on those boards. Anybody ever get the Wake Tech "Gravity Sucks" hat? Can't find that damn thing anywhere...

Hehehe we've still got my first Flight 69 wakeboard - it is the 'Special Edition' that was blue and grey instead of Yellow and Red. Still got the sandal bindings and all on it.
Needless to say my new O'Brien Vision 140 rides just a tad better - but when they stop using the other board - I think I'll keep it as a souveneir _________________

I still ride a Byerly Blunt every-now-and-then when I want to ride something other than the BadAss Pod. It's still one of the best boards I've ever ridden. _________________ Jason

I still have and ride my 1998 Byerly Pro Waketech board, with Gravity Pro bindings (by waketech) and Waketech rainbow fins.
Fu*king indestructable. What happened to them? _________________ Terminate high thinking |

acutally, the boards weren't indestructable. The final straw for that company was that during their last season, they pumped more air in their foam core to make the boards lighter. Shops bought into it fully because it was as light as a HC board but way cheaper. Little did they realize that the strength was compromised greatly and that resulted in a lot of boards that couldn't be warrantied and the eventual demise of the company. I was totally stoked on that company though. _________________ J.L.A. Is Snowboarding

I don't know about that, sounds a bit dodgy hey...
But my board is 4 years old, its the only board my crew have so it gets ridden several times everytime we go out, Instead of just by me, it has survived continous use on a 40ft slider and a 6 1/2 foot kicker, all without any problems. Only last month was the first chip ever put in it, and I hasn't taken on any water or anything since. it still seems as solid as they day I bought it.
By the way, it has a great surface for sliding, it is hardly marked at all. _________________ Terminate high thinking |

Before my 2002 Double Up Rure Ride
Before my 1999 Trip 138
There was my 1996 WakeTech Flight 69
Now since then the trip broke in 2 and delaminated,
then the double up had broken and delaminated 3 times
thus has been replaced 3 times
but the flight 69 is still going strong
That while the boards are heavy they are built tough
I can still do backrolls and tantrums with it

I have the 143 orange and white 69. It is an indestructible board. I also loved the 143 twin tip Perez. I broke 3 of those though. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the very first twin tip on the market was the Neptune SIX??? No front fin, but was twin tip.

well while i was at Auburn we had a deal with Waketech the last full year of production the first year of the Blunt, and the Byerly Pro with the Orange Blossom Trail Graphics. Well between 3 people we went through 5 pros and 2 Blunts in a summer. We were breaking them left and right. Core Rider is still riding the last Blunt I got from them, and somehow it's still holding up. _________________ Shane Cook
