it would be better if you could rent one but if you cant you may want to try one of the cheap 100 and under flat skates. i guarantee youll have fun on the skate.

yea even if you just buy it to have something to do when your feet start to hurt from bindings or whatever i promise you'll have fun on it. i'm sure that you will have fun with it. What you need to do is find somebody that has one and go riding with him/her. Try to start riding different kinds so you can get a feel for what is out there.
