I have been wakeboarding on a cable about 10 times, but can't get any consistency on the height of my Ollies - it seems to range from 1ft to 3ft. I get a good progressive edge on the heelside coming out of the corners and can get as low as the guys who cut for an Air Raley (which I'll save for later!), but I think I'm killing the pop when I take the edge off and do the jump. Am cutting too much for an Ollie (because it seems hard to go from the sharp cut to a stable base to jump from) and how should I transfer my weight to get a good consistent pop?
I would be grateful for any help.

i ride cable to, and i do the same thing, icome around the corner and edge out, but i do it toeside, and then i always do ollie 180's at the same point. I never have seen anyone edge for an ollie like the edge for a raley though. i dont think that would help, you should just edge out, and ollie, flatten out before it though, and just push down on your back foot harder to make it higher. i wouldnt get so low though, thats not needed, and when you let off your edge, dont wait to do the ollie, do the ollie right after you let off your edge, becasue if you weight, you will loose speed, but that has nothing to do with the height of your ollie, but it helps, i think, in my opinion atleast.

everything i just said might not be the absolute corect way, but its what helps me, good luck, tell us how it goes next time

I jam my front foot down hard and then stomp my back in a very quick motion and always gets me plenty on height no matter where I am. The faster I am going, the higher I get (to a point), but I rarely need to cut. Are you using your front foot (by the way, a 3 foot ollie is nothing to sneeze at!)

Thanks for that. I suspected the 'Raley cut' might be the problem because I then have to level out too much for the Ollie.
The problem I have is that I only occasionally get a 3ft ollie which feels great, but it becomes really frustrating when I can't repeat it consistently. I haven't been using my front foot because I thought I might catch the front edge and faceplant. I'll try it on Monday and hope my face stays intact!

One extra question.....
Do I crouch down, or should I be 'standing tall' when I push down with my feet? Sometimes I crouch down before jumping in order to get more height, but suspect that could kill the pop and make me have to use by legs too much to get the height.
