I have been checking the posts, but I still have a few questions about mutiny boards. First, how big are the fins, and second, has anybody ridden the foam and is it any good? Is it sticky or grippy, like tape?
thanks |

The fins are 1.5" long. Some people like them, some people like shorter fins, and some prefer to ride finless. It's all personal preference.
The Grip/Foam is personal preference as well. I prefer grip 'cause it sticks better. The foam is really good though, too. I've heard from others, and I agree, that the foam sticks really well; better than other 'skates with foam tops. |

They are in the process of deciding what fin to use right now. I was riding with Schmaltz over the 4th of July, and he actually had 2 different fins on each end of his board. I don't know what they will end up with, but I know it'll be sick.
As for the foam top...like it was said earlier, it's all preference. I've ridden both the foam and grip...both work very well. |

Four cross grain Hard Rock Maple Veeneers (same wood that is used in skateboards) that sandwich high density foam composite. Polyethylene base for sliding and protection....Its basically the same as a high speed base on a snowboard, i.e.....you could wax it if you like...
The decks are laminated with a revolutionary adhesive called "Rock" that is virtually bullet proof. The board literally has no chance of warping or delaminating.
The boards are lighter and stiffer than anything out there when it comes to the wood decks. i would defiantely look into one. The construction on these boards is very unique.....which in my opinion, this industry needed BADLY!!!! |

I tried out a mutiny one this past weekend and wasn't impressed overall with it. Granted it was a flat one, not the endurance. I know it's all personal preference and I was the only one on the boat that didn't care for it.
Pros: I thought it was made very well, better than my cassette.
the base is excellent, great for slidding. I was ollieing onto a dock and caught a cleet. No damage at all.
Con's: The rocker seems no where to be found, real small rocker.
The one I demoed was seemed extra wide and real long. Again, I prefer a shorter skate and this one seemed around 45 or so.
Sat too low in the water for my taste.
I was going to try out the Endurance, but the foam top turned me away and I didn't want to grab both demo's Nate had. I'll be checking out the endurance series a little later in the week though. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. Just to clarify, the Endurance is a flat deck as well. The concaves will be coming out soon. The Steadfast and Endurance series are basically the same shape, but the Endurance series rides a lot different because of its different construction. My observations are that the Endurance is a lighter, stiffer board that is snappier (has more pop). I like both boards.

It was the steadfast series that I rode. I'm hooking up with Nate sometime this week and I'll try and grab the endurance series. Hopefully I'll like it a lot more, I'm very excited about the new skates coming out and I hope for alternatives to cassette and the wakeboard company. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. Let me quote something from Erich about his new skates...
This was off the wakeskating.com forum anyway....
| Quote: |
Thomas... <--me, not Horrell
our 39.5" is actually less than 1/4'" wider in the waist than the cassette. and in the tail it's less than 1/2" wider ... so, it's not all that much. if you move up to out 43" deck thats when our sizes become wider than the average wakeskate... the reason being, you get more surface area in width than length this keeps your feet in the critical areas of the board where you can feel the rocker and not have to ride a longer board. also some of you might think a wider board is harder to kick flip, well we thought of that one too... we are now offering the endurance series and the soon to be released concaves... with our new "Centra-fuse core" this means we make each board at aprox. 2 lbs. then we add weight back into the board just down the center... this creates an axis point for the board to spin/flip on... which makes kick flips and other flip tricks way easier to control. right now we are dialing in a specific weight for this. Currently we are finishing prototypes of concave skates and a line of wakeboards... watch how many companys rip this idea off... anyways, i real excited about the new stuff we are going to be releasing for next season and our web site will be updated shortly... if you have anymore ?'s e-mail me at: erichmutiny@cox.net
much respect, erich

I just got my Endurance today the first with the center weight. I am so stoked to go ride it on the 21st of August. I have to wait until my Dr. tells me my ACL is OK to ride on. _________________ www.integrity-wake.com

It is doing okay, But I have to wait until 6 mounths from the day for surgery. Ans I can only puussyfoot around untill next year, no w2w, shuvits or rails. My wife is going to give teh deck its first ride tommorow so she can tell me all about it.
It is so well made and Erich knows exactly what is going on for sure. The deck is sick I got the 43" black base with the Neon Orange foam top.
Perfect on the weight, I mean perfect, not a heavy as the 4 trac but not as light as the Catalyst. I have been doing shuvits on the carpet all night adn it spins with ease. _________________ www.integrity-wake.com

Godamn right I am still pissed, nothing better to do. The best thing is I tought my wife to wakeboard this summer ( after being with her for 5 years she finally wanted to do it). But it gets better she got up and wakeboarded 3 times, then I asked her to try the wakeskate and she got up her first try and has been 100% wakeskate since. She says the Mutiny is her deck and I have to get another from Erich. I am going to get his concave this fall (Perserverance right?), what he was telling me about the construction will make all the wood-only people think twice. _________________ www.integrity-wake.com

MutinyWake77, They won't be fully available until after the Surf expo....they are very busy designing the line and making everything a finished and final product.
Like Todd Armstrong, said...you can call Schmaltz or p.m. me or ride5 and we will make sure you will be able to get yourself on one of the skates. My personal advice....wait for the Perseverance boards to come out. You will be stoked you did... |
