learn on a kneeboard, its alot easier , just remember to keep the weight on your butt, and if you do a 180 lean forward or else your going in _________________ oh god its horrible |

hey, just make sure ur in the air first, then, the thing i was trying to do wrong is i was turning, then tring to pass the handle, and thats next to impossible, u want to jump, pulllll then handle pretty hard to ur back, and then pass the handle LATE, it feels like u wont get it, but just dont wuss out, and u pass the handle almost as u land. _________________ ur gonna eat it bad, everone does, but thats how u get better |

i am sure it prolly helps on your handle passes, but i have never tried it on a kneeboard.. to save yourself some embarrassment just dial your handle passes on the trampoline at home... if you can do a 720 with the handle passes on the tramp, then you can prolly do a 3 behind the boat. lots of practice, good luck.. and if you want to look strange, try the kneeboard thing, it prolly works, but i would stick to practicing on the tramp, and on the wakeboard. good luck _________________ I am a 18 year old, who dreams about wakeboarding all day....this seems like a cool website to get some information off of. |

ya, i just got a tramp a few days ago, and i have been practicing them all kinds on it.. it is so much easier on a trampoline, but it is better than nothing. i think i am going out tomarrow- if i get the handle i am almost sure i can stick it. just gotta reach real hard for the handle, it'll come! _________________ I am a 18 year old, who dreams about wakeboarding all day....this seems like a cool website to get some information off of. |

yeah, i dont think practicing spins on a tramp really helps, cause its not the same at all on the water, but doing flips helps a ton _________________ ur gonna eat it bad, everone does, but thats how u get better |

ya, the whole spin thing is that you dont have something pulling you 20 mph forward to create that resistance that makes it harder to grab the handle...if i could do the same flips on the water that i can do on a tramp, then i would be like pro, lol...maybe i could do em-i dunno, the whole tramp thing is more just for fun and to psych yourself out about wakeboarding as far as i am concerned. _________________ I am a 18 year old, who dreams about wakeboarding all day....this seems like a cool website to get some information off of. |

I'm with blindside088. I have a tramp and the 360s on those are cake. then I got behind the boat and I couldn't find the handle to save my life. After watching the video of me i could see the handle wasn't anywhere close to my hip so I wasn't going to make a pass.
I went home, got on the tramp and praticed pulling the handle HARD. Try jumping and pulling hard enough on the handle to make yourself land in front of where you jumped. Once I did that, I could pass the handle and make the rotation, but I wasn't getting enough air to come all the way around before the water caught up to me. _________________ 1989 Supra Comp TS6M, 06 GLI for haulin'.

Cap'nPimp, nice work on sticking it. I've found the best practice is to do little 3s and bs 180s off one wake, rollers, just ollieing, whatever. Little pop spins are easy due to the lack of line tension and that makes the handle pass easy to get used to. It's all about muscle memory.
Another thing I just remembered while out on the water today was that you want to turn your wrist over when putting the handle behind your back so your palm is facing up. That helps your body spin into the handle more, if you just shove it back there without turning it over, your body will resist the spin a bit. |

Very true toothpick. Something as little as rolling the wrist over helps a ton when spinning. Not to mention, it makes the handle a ton easier to get with your other hand. Nice advice.
