is a tantrum just another name for a backflip? and why is it said to learn a backroll before a back flip? Question

tantrum is just like a backflip. If you know how to do that you are money for this trick. Backroll or tantrum is usually the first invert to learn.

i learned a tantrum first because i couldnt figure out how the heck to do a backroll, its kinda a wierd and awkward thing to learn, but once u got it, its pretty easy. but a tantrum is like wakeboardstud said just a backflip once you let ur back hand off and square up to the wake, and a backroll is a continued motion through the wake.

It is usually easier to learn a backroll before a tantrum because a backroll is an easier motion. Also a backroll uses a regular progressive edge cut. A tantrum is a more akward motion and you have to cut really hard at first the kinda come off your edge at the end and let the wake kinda "trip" you over into the tantrum motion, but you still have to get pop. So the tantrum just has a different cut and a more akward motion.
