I watched this 5 minute video of wakeboarding tricks and i saw this guy do a "air backroll" and "air cab backroll" without using any wake. I guess he just ollied and flipped fast but anyone know how exactly this is done?

I sure as hell can't do it, but I rode with a guy all last week that was throwing air mobes (and backrolls) all day. The way he explained it was that you just load up the rope and carve like a mofo - your carving gives you the "trip" effect when you flip (like on a tantrum). That's the best description I can offer.

yeah, he pretty much said it, i can do a air backroll, havent really tried an air roll to revert, but i just take a carve off the outside of the wake and load the rope like crrrazy, then just do a backroll, it feels pretty cool.

basically it means carving hard away from the point really fast, and then you throuw the trick, it happens really fst, but like i said its a cool feeling, but its not a very popular trick nowadays.

The guy who I saw doing them was probably only a foot or so off the water when he was inverted. It's just like the theory of a backroll - you don't have to air it out to complete and land the move - it's all in how fast you spin. (again, I'm not speaking from experience here, only paraphrasing the advice I got.)

yeah it doesnt really mater how high ( I mean, yeah height helps) but you an only get so high with a wake, and its not really in the height its in the rope load and snap the board behind you really fast. there pretty easy, but the first few i tried i landed on the boad but the handle got jerked away, so just hold on tight and it will come

air tanrums ( bel-air) are alot harder i think, i tried a few, but you have to get the cut perfect or your board sticks to the water. but as for keeping them on the cable, i think there pretty cool, i mean they may not be popular, but who cares, there fun, and feel cool. oh yeah, and tucking my help, but i mean if u tuck its like kinda doing a mexiroll

yeah, cut alot harder, and as far away form the boat as hard as you can, and do this all realllly fast, and when you feel your board sorta lift outa the water, snap it behind you and do a regular backroll. but the key is cutting hard away, really fast
