When you are going into the wake edge away from the boat more than you would a regular backroll. This will help to bring the board around and put you in a better postion to get over top of it. The hardest part is not skipping out which you say you have down. I am not sure why you would get pulled out the front, that doesn't happen to me. I have them down w2w now I am starting to try to take then to the flats. Try to rotated you back shoulder around that may help to not go out the front. good luck

when i first tried hitting a back roll, i was underrotating, that hurt. Then i found myself over rotating to revert. Once you release off the wake, look real hard over your left shoulder (if you ride regular) it will really get you around a lot quicker and you'll have a ton of time to spot your landing. Once you can get to that point you'll feel like you're doing a w2w 180. That's one trick you should already have down.
