Shape the edges? Confused It's not a snow ski or snowboard.

Yeah wakeboards are pretty much self maintained. If your riding it in salt water, just rinse it off with freshwater when you get home. You should be fine by doing this.

Yeah water seems like the best idea. I would be sure to make sure that you washed the bindings really good though. It seems like they would become more worn by the salt water and made easier to tear.....
Just a thought

make sure to bevel the edges to 7 degrees, and use wax that doesn't melt when it gets hot out. also make sure to get a good wide scraper to take off the excess wax.

haha j/k wash it off with fresh water and thats all you need to do

If you take care of a wakeboard and dont outgrow it, it should last the rest of yourlife. However they do become damaged, no matter how well you take care of them and usually people like to change what they ride every once in a while (or often), to try out new sizes, styles, companies etc... But generally a wakeboard will last a very long time.

I ride in salt water, it's all I ride in. Just rinse it off with the water hose, preferabley before it's dried. You want to spray the water on it pretty hard, and get it in all the extra binding holes and stuff 'cause they will corode. Rinse the bindings in and out and under, yes under, lift up the toe a little and spray under there. Not rinsing your board/bindings just once can 'cause major damage, to the hardware, rubber, and finish, I've got pictures to prove it. So make sure you rinse it every time.
