Since i dont ride with anyone better than me now that i am home and not at school, i dont know how well ive been progressing ... im still in my first season of riding, and ride about once a week or once every two weeks in the ocean (until i get back to school)...
So far i can clear the wake with good speed and pop... land out in the flats if i want to, i can indy grab and tail / nose grab, and grab the back of the board between my legs hs, and i can clear w2w ts (most of the time) and stick i guess its an indy grab sometimes ... ive landed a hs and ts 180 but not consistantly, and i can do surface 180s and ride switch but no jumping ... all the lil fun stuff i can do also, like grinding the wake hs and ts ... and butter slides ... i learned how to hit and land some double ups and ive been trying to land a tantrum apparently im coming about 55 -65% of the way there ... but i dont know what i can land it ... im just not sure how im doing, since i teach my self everything at least now that im home ...
Thanks

| Hey man i know how it is. I none of my friends ride at all. I would say you're progressing rather good. Can you do ollie 180s? If not I would work on those. I'm about at the same stage you are. Have you tried a 360 yet? |

| it sounds like you are doing fine. I would suggest buying higher education because it really helps show the right technique and common problems. none of my friends ride so i learned everything i know from vids, this site, magazines and occasionally a lesson. just have fun |

ha...I was going to post something like what u have said...i am close to ur level...but still haven't got to the trantrum yet...im working on riding switch in order to get better landing and control with w2w 180s...
I got frustrated ...seriously i have been wakeboarding for 3 summers now( this is the third) still haven't improve much ...but seeing all those new guys throwing nice tricks in the bay ....sigh...
thats why im quiting my summer job to devoted for wakeboarding...
do u guys have any suggestions on gaining better pop...seems like i can't get a good pop as easy as other guys in the bay...i have to really edge it to clear the wake to the flats...but i can see others just drift in and get a high good pop...how can i do this??? |

For the pop its all about standing tall at the wake to keep your knees from absorbing all of it. I know this from experience, since I dont have my progressive edge down, I cant even clear the 2nd wake but I still get some pretty good air because I stand tall. _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

I think pop has a lot to do with your board also. I juts rode a n 03 belmont last night and was getting great pop and easily clearing w2w. Where as with my friends 01 full I tilt have to cut super hard and then its harder to time the pop. _________________ stuff happens |
