I have a mercruiser I/O with a 4.3 liter engine. Since last week-end the rpm is not stable. it use to be very stable but now it keep oscillating.
Did you ever have that kind of problem and what is the solution?

Clean out the water seperator. Maybe you have a bit of water in the tank. _________________ I'm hung like Einstein,

The water separator will be in the fuel line. Will probably look like an inverted glass bulb mounted on a flange or may even look like an oil filter. If the former, remove, drain contents and clean. If the latter, change the cartridge but first disconnect the fuel line and drain some fuel to see if it contains water. If so, drain the tank and either discard the lot or decant the gas and leave the water behind. You don't want to contaminate a new separator cartridge as soon as you've fitted it. _________________ Jeff |

It's a 1990, 4.3 liter. The problem is that when I pull a rider I use to old the rpm at 2900 and it was very stable. But since last week end I can see the rpm move between 2700 and 3000. I can also ear and feal the engine changing speed. This is not very good for a constant speed!
thanks! _________________ larry |
