invert help- how much air for a backroll or tantrum

i ride behind a small outboard and dont have a big pylon or tower so i cant get that much air. the first invert i tried was a backroll and i can get a little over 3/4 of the rotation before i hit the water i just cant seem to get high enough but i can flip really fast. i will be going behind a bigger boat soon but i was just wondering how high i need to be. (minimum)

Im embarassed to say but I have landed backrolls where my head was like two or three feet off the water this is probably not a good habbit but its been done so If you get the rotation down you should be able to do it and before you post another backroll help page read all the others on this sight to see if they help.

you need enought to get the full rotation

ever here of air rolls. you just need to compensate for your lack of air with the speed of your rotation.

its not a matter of trying to go big or not , everyone wants to but some (like me) dont have the boat if you rread my origanal post.

I have an I/O with small wake and no tower. And I just landed my first ever tantrum today on my boat. So you don't need that much air and you can learn them without a tower. But definetly get as much air as possible, dont be afraid and take it easy, because without it you won't make it. Just cut harder than ever before.

yea I have to agree w/ everyone. I've pulled tantrums where I could feel the spray on my hair while I was upside down. Not pretty but I made it. Also though I was like coolmojodude behind an I/0 w/ no tower no weight. Just remember to go Up and back. don't just curl backwards. you'll get it.
