Just pracitce jumping backwards a few feet or so then throw your head forward and do the roll, there harder then normal front rolls on the tramp. _________________

You cant simulate the backroll motions on a tramp, you can huck some backwards cartwheel flip deal but it won't help you with the backroll technique on the water.
One note- don't be afraid to try a backroll on the water, thats the only way you will ever learn it or anything else for that matter. |

Shaun tells you that it's not possible (DETENTION VOL. 1) I don't know him in person
But even if it's possible, I go with JimB...
Also, I think that the risk of getting hurt on the tramp is way bigger than the risk by trying from the beginning on the water.

| Nope, its not possible to roll on a trampoline. You need the pull of the boat to whip you and to revolve around the handle in a sense, thats why you don't see snowboarders pulling them, but then again they cant do a lot of the stuff you can do on a wakeboard. Its just the physics of it that make it not possible. keep tryin it, you just gotta commit. |

You can do a backroll on a tramp. They just arnt the feel of the ones u do on a wakeboard. You just bounce back and flip forward, easy. _________________

The backroll isn't gonna work like everyone else is saying, but i think if you learn backflips (if you don't already know them) it'll help because you will be comfortable going upsidedown. _________________

Wouldnt it be jumping forward and doing a backflip would be more like a backroll? I can do gainers off of a diving board where i jump forward and then do a backflip in the air do you think that would help me with my backroll at all? _________________ www.krookedminds.com

i dont really think that would help much because your not making a complete flip.
a backroll is more like a backwards cartwheel than a back flip _________________ Theres a fine line between bravery and stupidity-Johnny Knoxville |

and its a natural release off the wake, you don't 'throw' it like you do on the trampoline. AGAIN, you can huck a backroll rotation on a trampoline but it is nothing like a backroll off the wake.
And it would be throwing your head backwards, not forwards, holding on with both hands and doing a backwards cartwheel. When you leave the WAKE on a backroll, you are already at about a 45+ degree angle, you let the board release high and boom you are inverted and the rope pulls you around to complete the rotation. NOTHING LIKE ON THE TRAMPOLINE IN ANY FORM AT ALL. |
