I was just thumbing through the new copy of Alliance and there is a pic of the Gate on page 82. I do not have a scanner so I cannot post it but it really isn't what I pictured or like the drawing that had been posted. I figured that the ends of the board would be thick in order to have the high kicktails. It is actually like the Grubb or Byerly with an added almost like spoiler off the back. It angles up and doesn't touch the water. It is called the Gate 114 with an MSRP of $279.00

the price isnt as bad as i thought it would be. im kinda suprised though they are sizing it different. can someone get a copy of this magazine and scan in the pic.

ya i just saw that it looks so awsome. too bad i just bought a wakeskate, otherwise i would have waited for that one.

Yeah, my pic is pretty dodgy. But it is just a normal deck with 'wings' tacked onto the ends. They just flare up.

how bad do you really want to see it and a rider doing a toeside bluntslide on my slider? also a few manual pics and a 360 boardslide. i have them but i'll probably get in trouble AGAIN if i post them. i am getting mine next wed. it will change the wakeskate designs for good i think. 5\0 grind time people!!

This boards is good for sliders, but not so much wake to wake tricks and tech stuff like shuvits. I've ridden the board and everytime you land something with just a little to much wieght on the tail it wants to shoot out from under you. Why do you think this isnt Grubb or Byerlys new pro models, or why Grubb isnt riding this on the tour? Its just a marketing thing like phasers.

In regards to that pro model comment, I was actually thinking the same thing. I was just thinking that this deck is getting a lot of hype and if it's so good, why wasn't it a pro model? It would have been easy enough to slap grubb's name on it and then make his catylist (sp) one of their "basic" boards. Anyway....

it looks like someone learned from their mistakes...phasers was, is, and will continue to be the most influential attribute to riding a board on the water sideways. If anyone else laughs at phasers, be prepared to take it up the cornhizzle, fo'shizzle dizzle.....there, now I'm all "westside"-n-shizzle... Smile

Oh, and I meant to say shizzle. That's not pat's fancy computer work doing the talking...

otis bought his stuff from the hyperlite factory. he is not a pro, he just has friends in high places.

By the way, I still laugh when I read the post about the hyperlite board "with the growth on the end." It sounds cancerous or something...

You know I am curious why Hype made such a big deal to have Pat stop people posting pics of some of their boards that were being ridden at a pro-tour stop yet they sell all their products to otis who ends up spraying it all over the internet before their August announcment. Seems a bit Hypocritcal to me.

i was at the contest in irvine today and they were selling gates. i asked a guy there and he siad grubb isnt riding it because as of now it only comes in one size which i believe is a 114(including kicktails) and thats so much samller than the board grubb normally rides.

Dude! Grubb rides a 112 anyways i know all you guys are buying them at pro toer stops but when does it come out and how much will it cost.

hello? They're salesmen, they'll tell you what you want to hear in order to make the sale. And due to the celebrity worship factor, they're gonna have to come up with something to explain why grubb isn't riding it (and that other person was right, he rides a 112, normally).

That thing just had crazy kicktails on it....one of the only, if not the only wakeboard with kicktails. I have the first one and I was looking at it, and the kicktails made me laugh. If I had a pic, I'd post it but I don't have a digi cam.

I guess wakeboards with kicktails have died just like phasers.....

I forgot to add that the kicktails on the six resemble the ones on the gate.

Big feeel, would you consider yourself to be a pretty reliable source when it comes to skateboarding? If so, I have some questions for you because I think some things have been mangled during the transition from skate to snow to wake. But if you aren't, it isn't a big deal.

Also, I don't know if you care but a few weeks ago an original of blind's video days sold for 232.50. who would have ever thought?

i know im a little late but thamk you electricsnow he normally rides a 112 and im not saying he never rides his catalyst 116 and is not riding the gate i`m just saying for competion and training he uses the 112.

actually the neptune 6 was a direct rip off from an old Thruster design that never made it to production. they never produced any cause it sucked and they spent all there money running around all bling bling and stuff. that company never produce much of anything. lol lol lol lol Laughing
