1. dont ask US what board YOU should ride. YOU pick what board YOU should ride. ride both boards and pick the one you want.
2. use the search function if you want to find out information about a board. there is currently lots of information on the parks board, and same goes for the balance. this picture will help guide you to the search button in the upper left corner of your screen.

| He's right. Too many people want to know what board to ride without even knowing how it rides themself. Sad thing is, most of the time its a Parks board or byerly or just some well known board. Sad.

Thats the whole purpose of a forum though, for people to help others..... It doesent take long to offer a bit of help. You were starting out once too remember! All that was on your mind was getting a cool board and getting just as good as Parks or Byerly.
Just think about it

I've ridden both boards...
The balance was the best board I had ever ridden until I rode the parks.
The balance is extremly smooth and forgiving but still has really good pop. Perfect for any rider IMO.
The best way to describe te parks is badass. But it bucks very hard, it is very quick also. Once you set an edge, hold on. The board is WAY to much for a beginner. The parks lands fairly smooth also.
hope this helps, but demoing the boards sould be the deciding factor.

Frazcmankfar, This has been hashed out a million times on here - that is why scott a keeps throwing that up there. Just click through the first 5 pages in General Wake and tell me how many times this question (along with "What bindings should I buy?") comes up.
You say it only takes him a couple of seconds to help someone out - that is what he is doing. It may not be the most friendly way to do it, but I feel his frustration. Now Adam knows there is a "search" function. When I first started out on BBSs I didn't know about that function either and now I use it all the time. It only takes a few seconds to read the boards and use a search button as well.

But I still dont understand why you have to read it if you dont want to, there are people that are willing to help, and spread their knowledge in a laid back way..
But fair enough if it enrages you that much then lt 'em know about it.

| Frazcmankfar - in his own way, scott a, is trying to help out. He's just not big on the touchy feely approach and I don't blame him. I tried to PM a user a while back and help her out privately and I got my ass handed to me in return.

the old factor of "read more, post less" theory would work well in this guys case.
you read more posts to find out about something. 2 boards in your case. you read more means you will find what yoru looking for and dont get flamed by others.

I suppose so indeed.... But every post that I've read lately with Scott A in has resulted in him being a bit of a dick and everyone getting pissed with him ....
I will say no more on the subject ....

Instead of waiting for someone to reply on how the board rides and what it compares to he could have spent the time on the search buttom. That's like when someone jumps on and asks "what is hyperlite's/ liquid force's/ cwb's website?" go to google and it will take you less time than to get on a message board. search more, post less.....

Hey,
I have the LF Balance, and it rides awesome...I have not ridden the Parks, so this might be one-sided help. The balance is a great board, it edges well, and will come off the water for any kind of slides that you might want to try. It's got a lot of lift, and gives a great pop. Hope this helps, I'm an alumni of the "Hey, what board should I get?" newby question crew, so I'm a little less sensitive about it. Demoing is always going to be the best answer, but the sad matter of the fact is that we don't all live in an area where demoing is possible, so sometimes a little opinion can help. Don't get frustrated Adam, just stick around, and watch how the vets do it. this place can be a great resource, cause these guys know what they're talkin about. peace everyone

Play nice anti-shoobies!
Adam, no one took it the wrong way and it certainly isn't personal. You just happened to poke a sore spot unknowingly - and trust me 100 people poked it first...that's why it is sore! Glad to have you here.
iowaboarder's got it down!

anti shoobies
I have been a member here for a long time, even before the server failure, just cos I dont post doesnt mean that I dont read the forums most days.. I have seen all the posts for new boards.. I realise there is a shed load!! But I dont let it bother me, I asked this question when I started a year and a bit ago, someone was really helpfull, then after a few more visits I found the search function myself.
But as you own this sport then I can understand the agro this must cause you all ..
