New boat- - -take it back to the shop for warranty service on the lighter's wiring.

We have an old boat. Ours failed because the dash wiring needed repair. My cousin (an electrician) fixed it in minutes and it's been perfect ever since.

Just as a back-up there's an adapter you can get which connects to both terminals of the boat's battery. The other end of the adapter is a cigarette lighter recepticle. If you have that device you can still run the appropriate appliances even if the in-dash lighter's wiring fails.

Sometimes the connections come loose in the back of the 12v. Reach under your dash and check to make sure the connections are plugged in. This happened to me a couple of times. Good luck
