HELP, i think my subwoofer is blown

i have a 15'' 800 watt sub in my boat. I had a 600 watt amp pushing it. All the sudden it is sounding like crap.

A week ago my dad dipped the nose of the bow and water came over. I didnt think my sub would get wet in my closed bow, but it was placed right under the crack between the dash and the observers seat. So a couple days later i went to listen to my sub and it sounded funny and i looked and there was a pool of water in it. It was facing straight up. I dried everything off and it worked fine. But now all the sudden it sounds like it is blown. I checked the sub, but found no signs of it being blown. I checked the wiring, and re-wired some stuff but that didnt work out.

I ran my sub just off the head unit(no amp) and it still sounded like it was blown.

my major question is:

Did the water screw up my sub?

water shouldn't mess up a sub if the middle plate thing is platic. if its paper matial then it would screw it up

Check the spider to see if you see any signs of damage, more than likely the water corroded the copper wiring in the voicecoil.
