Tantrum question

Lots of people can do tantrums now and I dont think I will be able to do one ever but is it easier than it looks? Stupid question but I need to know.

I think what kdizzle is triin to say is that the idea of doing a flip on a wakeboard scares almost everyone who hasn't done it. The fear takes over and you won't try things. In my opinion yes the tantrum is easier than it looks. The wake does most of the work for the flippin part. You just have to know how to approach it. If your ready try it. The falls usually aren't that bad but you have to commit.

They are alot easier than they look imo. Just dont half ass in and you will be fine.

Its not the scary part cuz I trye an 8 set on my skateboard but its the difficulty. Can anyone compare it to a trick in skateboarding? i.e. the tantrum is as hard as a heelflip.

Tantrums are about as hard as a boardslide down a 5 stair a intermediate trick or like a frontside flip.

I would definatly say that a tantrum is easier than any of those tricks you said. I would even say easier than a kick filp, you will most likely land it alot faster.

Maybe for you but I could frontside flip b4 I could varialflip and it really isn't that hard either are 5 stair rails so what I'm trying to say is that it isn't that hard.

its kinda hard to relate it to skateboarding because you can rip on the wakeboard but not even be able to ollie on a skateboard. so its kinda hard to compare the 2 IMO.

Tantrums aren't hard at all. I just recently landed i on th first set I started trying them. I wish I would've tried them much earlier.

the only one on here that can skate well is El Train, and he's more of a vert skater

Not a lot of air really... Just enough air to W2W jump. Tantrums require a little more speed going into the wake - when you change your edge at the last second, you do lose some pop.

I believe that Tantrums are easier than most spins, for what its worth.

The worst part about a Tantrum is having your arm jerked when you land.

It's like every other trick . . If you commit to it and try to take it big, you have a good shot.

Tantrums are cake. I actually landed it my very first try. Second try I landed but popped the handle. I honestly had it dialed within 10 tries. Mind over matter.

Go at it like you've thrown it a million times before, like it's nothing. Be confident and you'll be surprised how easy it will come. Good Luck.

you cant do a ts tantrum xwakexaholicx, but its all personal preference. i can spin a 3 and land with out a rope and do a tantrum and almost land, there both equally the same to me its just that i was stupid and tried learning advanced tricks before i had the fundamentals down pat. not im saying screw the inverts and big spins im going to get my hs and ts good along with switch.

i totally agree with you Brian B. i hate it when i hear of some dude landing a backroll his first 2 weeks of wakeboarding. i mean good for him and all but you should really learn the basics before throwing yourself like that. i have been wakeboarding for 2 years now and i just started doing backrolls and tantrums. First i learned heelside and toeside down were it is no problem and i can do 3s on both side before moving to inverts. but wakeboarding is all about fun so do what you want, i just like to throw my retarded ideas in there

Brian B. I could care less if you believe me or not. That fact is that a Tantrum is a very basic trick. Yes, it's EASY. I did land it my first try, but it also took me about 25 before I could land a backroll. Landed a TS FS 3 on my fourth try, but didn't land a HS FS 3 until about my 30th try. Different tricks come easier to different people, but there is an obvious trend as to the general difficulty of trick. Obviously, you should have the basics dialed before you learn a more advanced trick. For instance, I believe that I landed the TS FS 3 so quickly because I had TS FS 180's dialed for about a year before I tried a 3. I did not have HS FS 180's dialed at all before I learned the HS FS 3. So, I absolutely agree with you that the basics are key to progression. No doubt about it.
