Shuv-its...Which way?

I ride regular and I can do a shuv-it on a skate and my wakeskate on the carpet. I am wanting to try it on the wake and it doesn't feel natural. I have always shoved the board clockwise and I feel that if I am on the left side of the wake I should kick the board the opposite way. It just doesn't feel normal to kick it clockwise...it makes me think That I am just going to shove the board and it is going to catch in the wake and I am going to eat the board. Any advise?

First, for people to help, you gotta get the terms right. When doing shuvits, it's backside or frontside. Backside is when the tail of the board is kicked in the direction of your back (if you're riding left foot forward, you kick your right foot behind you) and Frontside is the other way.

I suggest you try the shuvits out in the flats, that way the wake won't get in the way. That's how I do them.

You are trying frontside shuvits, which are alot harder that the standard baskside. If you are goofy you should throw the board counter-clockwise

On a skate, I am left food forward and I kick the tail of the board behind me. By what you are saying this is backside and easier thatn frontside. So I figure it is easist for bme to cut out backside into the flats and shove the board backside.Is that what you are saying?

I think frontside is easier at least on the indo board.

I agree with slay FS really is easier I ride a cassette and I can shuvit frontside but I cant even get close backside.

What about a frontside shuvit but roatting your body and riding away switch? Isnt that called a big spin? Ive been working on those lately.

Big spins are 360 shuvits with a 180 body varial. a FS shuvite with your body rotating is called a 180 lol.

Big Spins are 360 shuvits with a body varial in the same direction as the board. Like a 360 fs shuvit with a fs 180 body varial.
