For you DIY home improvement folks. Wife had me in workhorse mode this spring. Added wood floors, upstairs and down, built a mantle, and redid the fireplace.

Nice work Jason! Carpet is comfy, but it's amazing how good hardwood flooring looks.

Only so much room in this head.... The funny thing was I didnt have the forethought to take actual "BEFORE" pics to show the contrast. I was searching through old pics to find examples, so you got a Christmas pic, lol
Thanks guys, yeah, this project was all shooting from the hip. Every time I would finish one part, the wife would find something else (ie the fireplace). Basically, when you put new stuff in, everywhere the new stuff touches makes the old stuff look suck. So, it started with new floor. Me being cheap wanted to reuse baseboards. Wife laughed so then I did the taller baseboards. Then I did the TV but used a small glass shelf for components. She said it sucked and asked me to build a mantle. I explained how the components would still be visible with wires and she just said, "fix it!". So I came up with the hollow mantle idea. Inside the mantle is a powerstrip running the uverse box and googleTV. Bose box is on top since it has the disc player in it. Then she said the fireplace looked stupid with the mantle and floors, so thats when I did the stone work. Upstairs was just floors and baseboards.
