very cool.. I could see those being sold to a bar/grill somewhere and also one in my backyard next to my smoker.

Thanks all. She is really happy with the results and I'm sure she will love it.

Since we had the garage in project mode, we grabbed our coffee table and end tables and took them out for a refinishing. The coffee table was having some issues with wear and peeling of the polyurethane. We decided to sand the center down to raw wood and stain them ebony, then we lightly sanded and refinished the rest of the top with polyurethane. They turned out great and it was a nice refresher for the furniture.

Our oldest kind of got the DIY bug and is currently working on a table for the game room made totally with pallet wood.

LOL...somewhat, she and I are pretty similar politically, but she doesn't really like to discuss as much, so if it gets too lengthy, she's done.

She and I make a great team working on projects like this. We almost always work together and the project is typically a reflection of both our ideas. She found the desk idea on pinterest and we just modified the design a bit.

This weekend, we repurposed an end table we had in the room the above pallet end tables went in. It was a little tore up in some spots and we figured it would work well in one corner of our planter where it was kind of plain.

I find such irony in the reclaimed/repurposed wood trend.

A large "organic" feast served on a reclaimed wood beam table from an 1920's Industrial Chemicals facility.

ha! sorry man, my step dad has been a safety manager for 25 years. He gives me a new pair of safety glasses every 6 months. I wear those, gloves and ear plugs when mowing the yard or any work with saws. I wear the glasses any time i am using power tools. it's just been drilled into me over the years.

No worries. We probably should get in the habit of wearing the glasses when using the nailer. He has them on his head because he was using them while sawing.

The book case has been finished, with the color and stain he wanted and a couple coats of polyurethane.
