The wife and I are heading to Spain this next coming Monday26th. We are staying at a friends place just south of Valencia for about 9 days and then we will head up to Barcelona for four days.
We really have nothing planned and are just playing things by ear. Just wondering if any of you had any tips or must see things while we are there. We will do some of the tourist things like a gotti tour ect ect. Other than that really not much planned. _________________ Don't do anything rash.....and don't do anything to get a rash... |

Went to Barcelona a couple summers ago, the three things that stuck out for me were.
1. Lots of bars on the beach boardwalk, great to just sit and drink sangria and people watch.
2. Walk around old Barcelona.
3. Montserrat is a monk, temple/basilica way up the in the mountains outside of Barcelona, it is about an hour train ride to get to, then you load onto a gondola that takes you up to the top of the mountain. It was a cool place to see. _________________ Brent B

In Barcelona, Sagrada Familia, Park Guell and any of the other Antoni Gaudi sites. _________________

South of Valencia as in Alicante? Because that's a cool city (I studied abroad there). Really nice beaches (especially San Juan), a cool castle/fort on the edge of a huge mountain, etc. Valencia has an A+ aquarium if you're into that. The "Oceanografic" is the biggest Aquarium in Europe IIRC.
Obviously more to do in Barcelona though. Highly recommend Sagrada Familia and Parque Guell. The other sites are cool (gingerbread house) but those two are a whole new level. Watch your wallet on La Rambla...might be the worst place in the world for pickpockets. |

| Also would recommend Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. We did a bus tour up Montserrat and it was excellent. |

Tx for the suggestions. We are staying in denia which is right across the water from ibiza. I booked a table at the water party on the 30 th of May. Should be pretty fun. We arent going to stay in ibiza just catch a ferry over in the evening party all night long have breakfast there and come back to Denia.

| My brother is currently studying abroad in Barceona so the wife and I went to visit him last month. We loved La Sagrada Familia and Montserrat as other people have mentioned. We took the gondola up and then hiked to the top from there. It was a long day, but the view was incredible. Walking down the beach and grabbing some tapas and sangria as previously mentioned while people watching was also a good way to spend an afternoon/evening. |
