ohsix, holy sheot. Other than the distinctive (to some) whine, you are going to be one hell of a sleeper there.

Oh, it's just another F150. I can beat him to the onramp. NOT. Shocked

chavez, I kept the stock exhaust and it sounds no different at idle. I can hear the whine in the cab when I step on it, but otherwise can hear no difference. It's a Roush 6.2 Stage 2 kit which is advertised as 590HP/590TQ. On ramps and highway passing is where it excels. Not enough weight on the rear tires for low speed traction.

Ohsix, nice! Can you run it in 4wd mode from a dig? Can the transfer case take that kind of abuse?

I'm planning on buying the S4 as a project car of sorts, with proper fueling and slightly larger turbos on a pretty tame tune, they can run about 400 WHP pretty reliably.

I would think it could handle a 4wd launch. I just haven't had any reason to try it yet. If I ever take it to a drag strip or use someone's Vbox, I'll probably see how hard it will launch. I'm not really a proponent of "racetrucks" but I like the extra power for on-ramps and highway passing.

That S4 sounds like a fun project. I've never worked on one, but I've read that the V8 is a tight fit in those cars.

Not quite as fun but just picked up one of these. The color is unfortunate but the price was right.

Two of our three vehicles are that color. We travel on a half-mile of gravel to get to the end of our driveway - hence the gravel colored paint.

Gotcha, would love to see a dyno chart for that kit. The torque must be incredible.

All seriousness, it is pretty sad where wakeboarding has gone.

The problem, in my opinion, is the sport has priced out the people who could really advance it. I'm 26 and own an Axis a22. Just about everyone else I see at the dealerships, etc., is 50+. They buy the boats to use at the lake for their kids, who would rather play videogames than go out and ride.

Hell, I have a hard time getting gas money out of some of my friends, and a lot of time I'm working too hard to afford the dang boat to actually use it.

Yes 3or4+$ gas is a killer.

It was an expensive hobby at 1.75 now Shocked. I am sad that with little kids my hours on the boat have declined dramatically. My wallet is thankful. I still love a day on the boat though.

BrtnDan, will you stop ruining a perfectly good thread with all this wakeboard talk! We are over it! lol. You are experiencing "the shift" from the exuberance of youth to the reality of life wherein all your friends are too busy or poor to boat. own it.

Anyways, here is my 2010 F150, stock. I'm not into cars much, but this one pulls my boat to Islamorada (132miles flat) and for that, I wuv her!

Fuel prices have also dramatically altered sportfishing. In the 90's there were a lot of mid sized (30-45') inboard sportfishing boats and I remember buying red (untaxed) diesel for $.58/gal. (yes, I'm turning into my old man, quoting when fuel was only $.xx, lol) Now, that market segment is dead, and most people have moved to faster, more fuel efficient center consoles with outboards. Hard to get around the price of oil, it affects everything.

Oshix, what kind of fuel mileage are you seeing out of that thing now? I always wondered how much a supercharger would affect it.

TSchultz, I haven't hand calculated it. The display on in the instrument cluster has been showing 11.5 mpg. It was typically 12.2 before the supercharger. I haven't read any results of the SC helping fuel economy on the 5.0 or 6.2 V8. The 6.2 is a gas hog either way.
