have the latest ios (i think - 7.0.6), but this has been an issue since day one.

how do i find the passcode timeout setting? 1 min sounds accurate from use, but i've certainly never set it.

You can change the passcode timeout.
Settings -> General -> Passcode Lock -> Require Passcode ...

... Immediately
... After 1 minute
... After 15 minutes
... After 1 hour
... After 4 hours

thanks dave. looks like it was set to 5 min, w/ auto-lock at 1 min. changed it to 15 and 5.

just a small annoyance as i use my phone for all my outbound calls and demonstrations. pita to have to dial a passcode to hang up the phone. especially when it's a crap call and all i want to do is be off so i can talk shlt about the dolt on the other end!

What I don't recall is the phone locking when I was actually on a call. It's been a few months now, but I cannot remember that happening.

Just for my own curiosity, I will check/test it later using one of the iPhones here.

And I thought you could hit the power button to end the call too? Again, will check.

Last and certainly NOT least: 7.0.6 is the latest version. If anyone reading is NOT on it, I strongly recommend you update ASAP. The security hole they found is a serious one, and it also affects Safari on osX. It is serious enough where I have stopped using Safari entirely until they patch it.

could be, but the rubber gasket to my case is all beat up and that button got torn off, so it's a whip to dig into the case to hit it anyway.

So if updated to the 7.0.6, everything is a-okay?

E.J., yes, that release was (mostly) to patch that hole.
