Dude.Seriously. Did I just hear that?
He's completely flipped his position on Wall St and business in general. Now, Wall St and business is who Obama is propping up (via the Fed), and El Rushbo is fightin for the Main streeters? He nominated Yellen to continue this, and Bernake (who was nom'd by BUSH) are just his lackeys to accomplish this? Wait, what?
Did I just enter an alternate dimension? Am I about to meet my evil alternate self? Will he have a goatee? Hmm... _________________

| I assume you are talking about Rush Limbaugh? I think Rush and Glen Beck (and whoever else you can throw in that group) are like Jersey Shore for the "conservatives". I consider myself conservative to libertarian, but I can't listen to any of that bullchit. |

Sounds like he is coming to his senses to some extent. The sad thing is he probably doesn't realize that what he thinks Obama is doing has been happening for over 100 years. He'll probably flip right back if we get a R Prez next go round. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

I think his audience is mostly liberals. They are the only people who talk about him or quote him. I think it's a comfort food, really. Kinda like how watching Hoarders makes me feel better about the dust in my garage. _________________ TONA

jason_ssr, if I gauge that by the callers i heard during my encounter, I would say that would be 100% incorrect. I would argue by that sample that his audience is predominantly nutters. _________________

| Being a conservative talking head always seemed like a good racket to me. Their fans are extremely loyal and will buy whatever book they put out no matter what the quality, and they don't worry themselves too much about inconsistencies. They basically get to troll people for a living. |

I used to listen to those guys, then I started digging in deeper on my own. The more I dug in, the more I realized how both our parties are screwing us and have been for years. Sure, I agree with many conservative principles and some liberal ideas, but so many of the rest are taking away our liberties, it is sickening. Now I can't stand hearing any of them talk as if their side is the savior of the U.S. and we just need to follow their principles to prosperity. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

That wasn't really meant as a political shot, more of an observation. With a few exceptions talking heads on the left been as universally successful in monetizing their politics. Books with conservative authors and conservative topics always top the bestseller's list. It's definitely an easier audience to write for as it's far more homogeneous than the one that a liberal author might hope to target. |

About a year ago, I listened to Rush and Beck for about 2 weeks. I figured out a few things:
1. Glenn Beck is a smart guy. He's plays his audience like a fiddle. I don't believe he believes the shi+ he spews everyday. But he knows what his audience eats up so he continues to serve it. I know a few very smart people that are among his followers. I don't know how they get sucked in, but they take his word as gospel.
2. Rush Limbaugh is not a smart guy. IMO, he does believe the bullchit that comes out of his mouth. Because of this, he is the scarier of the two.
People who listen to either regularly, scare me. I don't think they can think critically about what is being said. They take it as absolute fact. _________________
