Any advice on picking out wall mounts for a 55" LCD TV (~50lbs)?

Mount needs to angle downward 10-15 degrees because it'll be mounted over a fireplace (yay Confused ), and it needs to swivel because it's going to be located near a sliding glass door.

Are there brand names that I should look for (or avoid)?

Any idea how Monoprice's mounts compare to stuff from BB? I'm interested in this one: http://www.monoprice.com/Product/?c_id=108&cp_id=10828&cs_id=1082806&p_id=6200&seq=1&format=1

buddy has a couple of monoprice ones. He is very happy with it. Everything I have gotten from them is quality. I don't know why this would be any different.

I've been very happy with the monoprice mounts as well. They are quite comparable to other products that are much more expensive.

I think my parents have that exact one from monoprice. It's solid.

Monoprice. Have 3 of them including one holding a 100lb or so plasma. They all allow for quite a bit of down tilt.

Make 100% sure you hit studs. And PRE DRILL your holes.

I have been real happy with the off the shelf model that I got from Costco. Fits all your above criteria.

eeven73, what did it cost you? The last one of those I put up was $99 I think. The build quality was only marginally better than the Monoprice ones IMO.

Around $100 sounds right. I had $79 in my mind. Been a couple years.

It is an articulating arm type so you can point the TV left or right at close to 90 if need be. So I think it has a little more functional options than the attached Monoprice bracket.

Not the same brand, similar. Maybe I paid closer to $50

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I've been buying small stuff (like cables) from Monoprice for awhile now, but given that this wall mount is going to hold my TV I just wanted to be sure that their stuff is legit before diving in.
