Absolutely disgusting, hope the school figures out all of the parties involved and takes appropriate action. I know some of the administrators here must be furious over this.
At the same time I'm disappointed that this is being held up as a representation of what our student body is like. _________________ wakeboards wakeboarding
Wow. Just call the police. Are there ccw laws there? I could see someone shooting and claiming self defense. I'm not saying that would be in any way right, but dang what were those kids thinking? If there were people with young kids in the car they could claim they felt endangered. Did anyone see the motorcycle gang thing. What if the driver of the first car hit the gas pedal instead of the horn?
Idiots being idiots. They are lucky that guy they hit with the bucket while he had his door open wasn't a younger guy or a car full of guys. It could have gotten out of hand really quickly.
To me, it comes off as punk kids being punk kids. I agree that it could have escalated in a couple instances shown on that video; glad it didn't. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?
You can see a couple of the students have lettersman's jackets. I don't know if these are student athlete only items or what. At one point in the video you can see a partial number on the side of one.
Unfortunetly the actions by a certain group of student body results in judging of the entire student body.
Some Oregon players will face "disciplinary actions" for participating in a snowball fight that went viral online, Ducks coach Mark Helfrich said in a statement.

Right. Stupidity by 20 something college students is unheard of. I'm sure no one at your alma mater has ever done anything shameful. _________________ wakeboards wakeboarding

You're right, I don't recall students viciously hurling snowballs at some innocent passerby's face. And also how do you know I went to college?
That's a rather specific characterization of 'shameful behavior,' don't you think?
I don't know if you went to college, and I don't need to know for the general inference I'm drawing. There are douchebags at every university. I'm not condoning anyone's behavior, but it's rather unreasonable to impute the abhorrent behavior of 30 (?) students onto a community of 28,000 students. This situation has nothing to do with the University of Oregon and everything to do with the behavior of the assholes who participated.
In other words, there is nothing inherent about being a University of Oregon student that makes you an door knob (though corporate and jryoung might disagree). _________________ wakeboards wakeboarding

Everything about the University of Oregon that makes you a door knob....but being a UofO student and having a snowball fight have nothing to do with each other. This is more about pack behavior than attending a shittty institution.
Correlation is not causation. _________________

I'm a buckeyes fan, but we are often hated because buckeye fans can be retarded. Just another situation of stupid kids acting stupid, and now the school will look bad for it, just like OSU has in the past, and many other schools.
Wish to God that dude had some pepper spray. Talk about the perfect time to have it. _________________

Oregon tight end Pharaoh Brown is suspended for Alamo Bowl for role in campus snowball fight
EUGENE -- Oregon starting tight end Pharaoh Brown has been suspended for the Alamo Bowl for his role in a viral video that showed University of Oregon students -- including several football players -- pelting cars and drivers with snowballs Friday, two university sources said.
Oregon's athletic department later confirmed the suspension.
The suspension was made by coach Mark Helfrich on Sunday after the coach spoke with drivers involved and apologized on behalf of his team, each source said. He also set up a meeting for players and a driver caught on video to meet in person.
Other unidentified players present in the video have not been suspended for the bowl game but have been disciplined internally by the UO football team, the second source said. The source left open the possibility that others could face discipline.
No. 10 Oregon (10-2) faces Texas (8-4) in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 30 in San Antonio. The university is holding final exams this week and the team does not practice again until Friday. Helfrich left Eugene for recruiting on Sunday evening, and announced through a statement that night that "disciplinary actions have begun."
This discipline from the athletic department does not include whatever punishment the university could deliver from its own investigation that was announced Saturday evening.
“I was one of the many UO students involved in the snowball fight on Friday and my actions escalated to an inappropriate level and for that, I sincerely apologize," Brown said in a statement released Monday afternoon. "We never should have engaged innocent people and I deeply regret my actions and will accept the consequences.”
Two drivers caught in the snowball fight said over the weekend they will not press charges. Krysten Mayfair was one of those drivers, and is an administrator for the university's College of Arts and Sciences.
"I believe the punishment might have been too severe given other non-athletes won't face the same kind of punishment, but I trust that coach Helfrich is doing what he thinks is best for his team," Mayfair said in an interview Monday.
The event was organized by football players via Twitter on Friday morning when Eugene was blanketed in snow. Two impromptu fights resulted, with the other at the university's recreation fields behind Hayward Field involving more than 100 students without incident.
Brown, a 6-foot-6 sophomore from Lyndhurst, Ohio, has 10 catches in nine games for 123 yards and two touchdowns this season. He could be replaced by either freshman Johnny Mundt or redshirt freshman Evan Baylis.
The suspension is the second of an Oregon tight end this season, after Colt Lyerla did not travel to UO's victory against Colorado in October. Lyerla then left the team the next day. Though Brown and Mundt initially absorbed Lyerla's role, Baylis has improved drastically, his position coach said before the Civil War.
Hopefully the punishment will be memorable in Brown's mind and affects his future behavior. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?
