Bill of Rights Assignment

Some of you may have heard about this story and some may not. I'm not going to post a news story on this, because I don't want the rhetoric of the story to bias the discussion. Take a look at the images and you will see how this assignment was laid out to the students of a school. If your child came home with this assignment, what would you think of it?

It's a theoretical exercise to get students to think about the bill of rights. Whats the problem?

I haven't heard the "news" reports in regards to this but can't believe it is enlightening in the least.

I agree with eeven73.

This is more asinine than the study guide question and answer you posted a while back concerning the 2nd amendment. Obviously, the study guide was conveying to the reader a summary of the amendment as preparation for a test question. The intent of the guide was not to give a full definition of the amendment.

I think it is a good exercise, as well. It seems to me it would require a fair amount of critical thinking and help them to better understand the BOR. It might also put them in the position of better understanding what our FF's went through to put those amendments together in the first place. I think it would be a good exercise to follow this one up with them reading and learning the Federalist and Anti-Federalist papers.
