Exactly why I find it hard to trust a board with tracks. I've heard they've improved, but it still would make me nervous.

Companies have been experimenting with them for a long time. Gator boards tried to do em in the early 2000's or so and that was the last major push from a brand (I think) until Slingshot launched the tech with their line.

My thought is, the very little extra freedom of movement you're gonna get vs. the seemingly high-amount of rip-outs you tend to see on tracked boards isn't worth it. I haven't really heard of the newer Slingy boards being a major epidemic of destroyed decks (this is the first compliant like this I've seen from a slingshot board on here), but I still prefer the traditional mounts.

The rail has had a few upgrades since it was first launched, resulting in a quite safe bet. The pic above is a first gen, so not as tough as the newer models. Now I know how much.

It's a shame, but boards wear and break, that's just how it goes. I got another one (I just love the board, more than I dislike the rail) and this one is getting ready for some major surgery. I can't mess it up anyway, so cue powertools and Ptex Very Happy
