Any idea on what helped with the consistent energy? The past year I've been eating and sleeping healthier than I ever have in my entire life, but ever since high school, I've always gotten extremely tired about an hour after lunch. And some days it gets pretty bad... like falling asleep during important meetings....

Faust, what are you eating at lunch? Also, do you drink a lot of coffee before lunch?

My meals today consist of the following:
Breakfast - Myoplex shake
morning snack at 10:30 - Apple
Lunch 12:15 - 1/2 baked chicken breast, salad (spinich, tomato, carrot and balsamic vinegar), and a boiled egg)
afternoon sack at 3:30 - Grapefruit
Dinner - salmon, green beans, steamed squash
No coffee during the day. Maybe a crystal light packet at some point. I left my spark drink at home.

Faust, well it's not like you are overeating - so I'd be looking at the caffeine intake. I cut out caffeine for a while and it really didn't bother me physically. I went back to it (mostly because "leaded" coffee tastes better), but I don't drink anything with caffeine in it after 2-3pm.
Sounds like it's just your body crashing after the caffeine wears off. Once you get over the hump of caffeine withdrawals, I bet you will even out. One thing that helps me is to GTFO of my office for at least a little bit, even if only to walk across the street to the sammich joint and back. It helps a lot for me.

| The other thing is what you're eating may not be enough. Try inserting an apple at mid morning and something like a banana, celery with all natural peanut butter, or a few boiled eggs, etc. mid afternoon. Also, consider switching your bread to a true hole grain (look on the back of the bread bag and make sure it says whole wheat flour and that sugar is at least the third ingredient listed).

Also, if you are not eating enough, try going with a lean protein instead of anything carb. Something like celery w/ PB, hard boiled eggs, handful of almonds, can of tuna. Easy, quick, no carb.

Ok, so here's where I ended up. I lost about 9-10lbs. I lost at least two inches in my waist. I'm happy I did the challenge, and I feel that it got me where I wanted to be for summer. Also, it has really helped me lean out my diet and be a bit healthier. I'm going to keep the diet up, but I'm going to have a few light beers or glasses of wine on the weekend. Hopefully, I can maintain the results I achieved. I want to stress that I worked out during the challenge like I did beforehand. It's not like I sat on the couch for 24 days.

That's two different people, no one wears their watch on both wrists, you pick one and you stick with it.

Just an update: I've been sticking to the clean eating program that I learned during the 24 day challenge about 90%. I cheat occasionally. I drink a beer or two or a few glasses of wine on the weekend. I eat a burger or mexican food every now and then, but for the most part, I'm still doing a protein shake for breakfast, midmorning stack (fruit), carb-free lunch (like salad with chicken, turkey burger, fish, etc, mid afternoon snack (like veggies or almonds and raisins) and a reasonable dinner (like turkey chili, rotissarie chicken, grilled chicken, lean steak, and veggies), and lots of water.
I have not changed my workout routine, and I'm maintaining my weightloss. I went from 180ish down to 166. I weighed 168 this morning, and I tend to fluctuate between 166 and 169, depending on my salt/beer intake. Two of my friends have done the challenge this summer, and they are also seeing great results. Not that this particular diet is the key, but I'm happy I learned the benefits of clean eating.

Started this thing yesterday with my wife. I really don't want to lose any weight, just learn to eat healthier and add lean muscle. I already play in a racquetball tournament league Monday and Wednesday mornings, play some pick-up racquetball and lift weights (stronglifts 5x5 program) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and ride dirt bikes on Saturdays, so I'm as physically active as I've ever been. My weight fluctuates between 175-180 and I'm 6'0". I haven't checked my body fat in a long time, but I'll try to do it tonight.
My wife bought a 24 day challenge kit about a month ago as she would like to lose about 10 lbs. Every time she has cooked something new for the last month I have asked her if the meal was part of her 24 day challenge. She finally asked me to do it with her, which I agreed to.
I've always been pretty lean and physically active, but I eat whatever I want and as much as I want. I'd like to see what happens if I eat healthier and I'd like to learn how to eat healthier long term. I'll try to update this thread occasionally with my results.

| Please do. I've been sticking to the diet about 90% since I did the challenge. I really haven't gained any weight back. However if I eat salty food I retain a lb or two of water from time to time.

That sounds pretty close to my meals the last few days. eggs / salad / chicken breast / fish fillets / rice / crystal light. Although I've never heard of Advocare. Down to about 197 from 216 right now though and feel a lot less sluggish. Right now we're kind of sticking to the healthy meals but have one cheat day a week to keep me sane.

Tomorrow will be day 24 for my wife and I. More so for my wife. I quit taking the Advocare supplements after day 5 and just stuck to the diet. After day 2, other than the occasional caffeine rush from Spark, I was tired and exhausted. I do feel like I've had less energy since starting the diet. I'm sure I've lost some weight, but haven't weighed myself yet.
I do feel like I've learned how to eat healthier which was my overall goal for doing this. I've slept really good, but I think that's been due to being tired and having less energy. I suppose this comes from running a Calorie deficit. My racquetball game has sucked lately. I've fallen from number 2 in the tournament league to number 5 and have lost 3 matches to guys I would normally have no problem beating. This could just be a slump, but I don't have near the energy I used to while playing.
My wife has lost 8 lbs as of this morning and she has stuck to the diet including supplements. She hasn't complained much about a loss of energy, but her exercise is typically a 45 minute walk or bike ride.

| Well it's good to hear that you feel you have learned something about healthy eating. Those first few days were super tough for me too. However, like I posted above, I found that I had more consistent energy on the diet. I'm still sticking to it, and continue to keep off the 10 lbs I lost months back.
