|
|
I bought a 2008 Svfara SV3 used a few months ago and love the boat. The question I have is that it has a switch on the dash for a gate valve. How does it work? I don't have an owner's manual for the boat. The ballast fills and empties so I'm not sure what the gate valve does. Also, sometimes, my port side ballast tank will drain on its own when we're surfing. Any ideas? |

They're Canadian, other than that I have no idea. Never really heard much about them. |

They were bought out by Campion boats, which is the largest boat manufacturer in Canada. They still make this model. |

A quick Google search seems like they are/were popular in Canada. Wish I could help. _________________ "It's just water..not concrete or dirt..just throw it!! |

I saw those boats at surf expo a few years back when they tried to make it into the USA market. I would contact Campion boats in Canada and see if they can help you. _________________ Wakeskating

I own a 2008 SV3. if it hasnt changed from the factory setup, here's how it works. To fill the tanks there is a master valve that has to be opened. Once it is opened, you can turn on any or all of the pumps to fill the tanks. You open the valve by pressing the switch on the dash, and when it is open the light next the switch lights up. After the tanks are filled, press the switch again and the gate closes and the light goes out. If you open the floor compartment under the carpet to the left of the drivers seat you can see all of this plumbing - the intake port through the hull, the gate valve with sensor for the pilot light, and all three ballast fill pumps. And yeah my port tank loses a little water when surfing too, not for certain but I attribute it to water sloshing out of a full tank through the overflow ports, usually when starting up or circling back. |

Thanks for the reply. You can tell I don't come on here much since I'm replying 4 months later lol. My ballast seems to fill whether the gate valve is open or closed. Is it not supposed to fill when the gate valve is closed? How much water does your port side tank lose? Mine almost goes empty after about 15 mins. |
