Whats everyone's plans?

We are getting a small group together and headed to a buddies bar. I know we are having a NYE party at my bar too but since my buddy has to work I figured I would head to his. Just a group of 15 or so doing dinner and drinks. Nothing over the top this year like the last couple in Puerto Vallarta.

So this year for new years, we are going to be going to my friends lakehouse and spending the night there. But what are some fun things to do if it's cold. It'll be 3 guys and 2 girls. No alcohol will be involved. I mean we'll take fireworks obviously, but is there something else i should take to have fun? I dunno what kinda temperatures we'll be looking at yet, but if its not too cold we're going to take the boat out for a ride.

I think we will go out for dinner around 5:30. Head back home and put our son to bed about 7:30. Then maybe get crazy and pour a couple bookers on the rocks before going to bed at about 8:30-9...I guess im old beyond my years, that and my wife has to leave for work by 5:30 on the 1st.

Our boys have events going on with other kids so my wife and I are going out for a dinner date and spending time just the two of us. We plan to just enjoy ourselves as much as possible...whatever that becomes.

With a just-2-year-old it's not going to be spectacular. Dinner with friends, go home, couch/movie/drinks probably.
We always went to beach psytrance parties, the best way to start the year imo. Not anytime soon again methinks...

I had a busy week last week so NYE will probably just be working and relaxing. Same with NY day unfortunately.

Heading to my parents house to play cards and hang out. Last big NYE I did out was probably 7 years ago and I was glad we were walking everywhere. It becomes amature hour out there. Ya'll be safe!

Not completely sure. Taking it (somewhat) easy on the booze but will probably stop by a party or two that friends are having. The girl has to work in the AM and I don't so she can be my DD Cool

Same-ish here. NYE is for rookies, we can all party any night of the year and NYE is the worst night to pick, besides maybe St. Pats. Staying home, hopefully boating and fishing tomorrow.

Oh man, St. Pats in Milwaukee is when I make sure I'm working and head straight home and lock the doors. Kids start at 6 a.m. and go all day. I think its the day in Milwaukee with the highest arrests for DUI and disorderly. Couple kids have died over the years as well. Usually fall in the river and drown.

a third girl comes to mind right away.

We are having dinner with friends, drinking sake (japanese food for dinner), and then as soon as midnight hits, I'm going to bed with my girl and start the new year off with a bang, then sleeping.

I can't be bothered with the usual gaggle of morons who make spectacles of themselves and generally piss me off every big "drinking" holiday....

Been in Tahoe for the last 6 days. Leave tomorrow. For NYE I spent some time dodging trees at Homewood then hit the casinos for a bit after a homemade meal. Lost all my winnings from the last week but all in all a relaxing week.

^^ same, but with a different crew.

Great extended weekend. My pass was blacked out so I didn't hit the slopes at all but it was nice to have ZERO plans for a few days in a row. Beautiful weather, walked around a bunch, Niners won, and people were in MUCH better spirits than last year when there was no snow at all.

And I can't believe Chad's post went over so many people's heads. Laughing

We had a few friends over, about 12-13 of them. Most of us were drinking, but some weren't... it was a good time. Spent yesterday cleaning and watching movies while my husband nursed his hangover Laughing

This made me check the date to see if this was a resurrected thread.

Happy New Years all!

I spent NYE quietly, at home. New Years day I went to Gulfstream Park to bet on the horse races. Brought some pre-made margaritas and mojitos and rooted for horses. Was up $50 at one point, was down to $20 at the last race. Bet that $20 on Wes Welker's horse, Undrafted (favored to win and has an awesome jockey), but he ended up 4th.

In the kinda-sorta process of kinda-sorta moving, so been crazy shopping and moving stuff. Haven't had an awesome drinking night in a while. I could use some jello shots!
