Just got this G25 Nautique delivered to Lake Austin in Texas - Overall I I was pretty impressed with the room and functionality of the seating and flexibility. I decided on the 550 supercharger and probably going to be spending alot of time at the gas station next year.

Here are some pics I thought I would share

Awesome. Are you going to do a stereo like your old boat?

Nice! In the last pic of the first post, it looks like you can see the bottom of the lake...is that reflections or is the water that clear?

I like the fact that the owner is so indifferent (for lack of a better word) about it that he just calls it a Ski Natique, not bragging about his Super Air NaUtique G25 Wink

PostPosted: Dec 30, 2012 4:30 pm    Post subject: Phase 1 - Battery Upgrades - Reply with quote

I wanted to share some more pics with the ongoing stereo upgrades kind of doing it in stages with different people who are better in some areas than others -

Since the boat came with two battery banks and a OEM 15 AMP charger- single 12 volt standard batteries, we know these dual batteries from the factory never cut it, so rewired these that came with the boat and ran this as a separate new configuration as bank 1 - the starter bank -nothing special about these- TWO 12 volt batteries, standard size, OEM that came with the boat that now reside on bank #1

NEW AND ADDED ADDITIONAL POWER
Designated as Battery Bank #2
#3 - Deka 8d8g GEL SEALED - power and additional Battery upgrade - 225-260 amp hours each, X 3= approx 780 amp hours and additional weight of 165 pounds per battery - total weight added 505 pounds with additional battery's and special seated trays that are bolted to back port and stern flooring in the engine areas. Due to the current, these were wired with 1 gauge in parallel to the new upgraded charger - all three batteries running as a single bank #2, each being monitored by the Pronautic 12-60 P charger.

Added -PROMARINER PRONAUTIC 1260P 60 AMP Charger - 60 amp 3 battery upgraded charger -- with digital remote mounted to rear of engine port side. i am not too familiar with this charger but it seems to have a very well designed full featured interface that give you the ability to handle each battery fully customized based on the type, size and even arms each each with the volts you want delivered amps, to each battery, i hope it lasts, they aren't cheap, it does have a lot of functionality and a decent amp output for the power of amp hours that was installed. the main purpose was to be able to fully recharge bank #2 over night in 12-16 hours

So we still have the OEM charger that came with boat with a separate plug for independent charging of the 2 starter batteries that were rewired together.

I am hoping the Boat now has enough reserve power on bank #2 to handle the power and watts I will need.

Tell me i am crazy but if you want to pound serious bass on the water, i always find it helpful to have as much power as possible, its always the first to go and a strong power supply and consistent source that can feed 12.2-13.7 volts will keep your sound clean and runs your amps more efficient and even cooler for a long day on the water, whether parked or tied up, or running, i hope i have enough.. . Although they help, Even an aftermarket alternators never seem to keep up, even the upgraded alternators that are rated over 100 amps, although they help, in my experience the heat always kills them and make it very hard to keep up with you pushing it late in the day. you end up with distortion, even with some of the best amps, and a depleted battery bank by the end of the day, in my opinion, its always the hardest to manage on a wakeboard boat where a generator may not be possible.

anyway, it will be a fun project, i am not a pro on these things but trial and error sometimes works best with any high end system based on my previous systems

Thanks for reading...
