Just curious, what techniques do you use for starting?

Over here'we've mostly been doing sitdown dockstarts, but last time I got smacked constantly. timing the pull and gettong off my ass just wasn't happening, so I landed on the bottom time after time. At that spot deep water starts are an option, but we are going to winch more challenging places for sure.

Anyone that has come up with an original approach?

Just deep-water start or sit-start on the ground at the edge of the water. I've seen starting platforms that people build with a slick surface that they just stand on and get pulled off of too, but that's too much work and not practical unless you're posting up for at least a whole day/weekend.

Right! Worked on it a bit and I got it down now. So that's one less thing to worry about. But as this thread exists anyway, how 'bout sharing some alternatives?

Pics and movies are welcome too!

Anyone do jumpstarts?

we've done it all, jump starts off haggard canals, deep water starts with or without a vest, sliding starts (my fav), sitting starts (from chairs, tubes, swim decks, etc), acid drops (also my fav but strapless)

jump starting, we're gonna try that next Lemmy! it's all about the timing i guess, leave some slack in the rope so you can see it tighten and jump at the right time?

OR jump high so that the operator can floor it on time? Laughing

That clip is a much shorter distance than we use bro!

Did work today and tried a few things. We got it down now, so that opens up many new options. Not to mention more spots!

Got it on video too, so we can share results in due time Very Happy
