Funny, that boat was #2 on my list. I ended up with a black one. Good luck! I'd say, for me, it was only missing swivel board racks.

Swivel racks are nice. The price seems good for the hours if it is a fresh water boat. Here are the options I would want to have, minimum: Bimini, plug n play, wedge, swivel racks, high altitude prop, pop up cleats, chillax seating. Find out what it would tme to add those options if this boat doesn't have them and the compare prices with boats that do have them.

How do you compare the quality to say, a Nautique or a Mastercraft.

The vinyl and some components of the Axis - such as the dash - are going to be less complicated and less blinged out. You have to cut corners somewhere to keep the price down. However, where it counts, in terms of the construction of the hull, tower, ballast system, and drivetrain, I'd say the quality is extremely comparable.

What I like is that, in terms of performance, the Axis throws as good of a wake as any boat out there, drives amazing, and feels rock solid. Just go test drive a few and see what you think. No, an Axis is not going to have all of the gadgets and creature comforts taht you are going to get with nautique, mc or Bu, but it's still plenty nice.

I totally agree. As someone that works on all the big brands I can vouch that Axis use the same engines, transmissions, gauges etc and all other critical components the rest of the industry uses. The hull and deck is also built to the same grade as the Malibus from what I can see.

The lower price is not comparable to the drop in 'creature comforts' in my opinion. How an X star is circa 70k more money than an A22 boggles me.

That seems almost like a plus to me.

I don't need a combo dvd player / lcd screen / waffle maker. I want a kick-ass wake, solid boat, thats going to be reliable.

thanks for the feedback y'all

psh if you ain't having waffles in the boat after an early morning set you're missing out!

I didn't see a heater on the option list? I would seriously consider getting one put in. We used it constantly in my boat, a lot more than I thought we would when I bought it.

We had one on the parent's old x-star. I understand the benefits of it, but i'm a "I run hot" kind of guy.

If we can make it happen (especially living in MI) i'm going to, but these costs can add up quick. Might be next winter's project.

Can anyone school me on tower speakers / bimini for the A22?

The factory tower speakers are ok for listing to music in the boat or while surfing. If you want to hear the music while wakeboarding, you're going to have to upgrade.

The factory bimini is super easy to use, but I prefer a z5. My local axis dealer can get you whatever parts/options you want at a super cheap price. I'd check with her before buying anything local...

What is this? This is instead of the screw type knobs that normally suck to line up and screw in?

BrtnDan, where do you live at in MI?! I've been lookin for someone to ride with around here so I don't have to resort to driving down to Indianapolis to ride with friends anytime I want to ride. (Currently in Grand Rapids, MI)

Oh, I have to get some of those, those screw knobs can be VERY frustrating. Any modifications required or do they just work where the screw knobs work?

I Live downtown GR. PM me.

Chattwake -

I'd love to, i'm a buyer at ~42k. When should I pick it up?

In all seriousness, I bought the boat on Wednesday. Picking it up on Saturday. Weather looks pretty so/so.....getting in anyway Smile

Now I need to pick up some wetsounds, a bimini, some more weight, and some hotter chicks.

Anyone know where I can find hotter chicks?

Jgriffith, they are screws, but they have a handle so you don't need a wrench to put them on and off. It makes raising and lowering the tower a lot easier.

Can't help with the hotter chicks, but you can order wetsounds, a bimini, and bags from Joyce at 423 336 1088. If you tell he I referred you, she'll hook it up.

Oh, thats what I already have, I was hoping for pins or something. Mine is off alignment on one side by a tiny bit so its difficult to screw in sometimes.

Laughing

So the screws with knobs are the newest and best? My buddy has an 09 and already has those. If there's something better it would make a good wedding gift
