Looking at buying a used 2003 Malibu Wakesetter. Externals look good, but since I'm new to this, I'd appreciate your tips regarding the following service history. It has/will been run in saltwater:

The engine has 1000 hs. It was rebuilt when it had 800 hs due to a water pump failure and an overheat. Pistons, rings and all gaskets changed.

I have changed all these parts below and the boat was not run since then. (started up once a month to keep it running)

Exhaust elbows x2
Exhaust manifold x2
Engine water pump
Starter
Alternator
Carburetor
Distributor/spark cables
Spark plugs
Oils (transmission and engine)

Thx Goochy. Considerin the hours and service history, still think there'd be a bit of life left in the boat?

exhaust risers and manifolds would be my big concern on a salt boat so being fresh is a good thing. Otherwise normal prebuy stuff, compression test, check oil and tranny fluid for water. Check out the bilge, look for stress cracks etc. Make sure all the pumps and electronics work like they're supposed to. I'd also pay close attention to the condition of the wiring, corrosion in there could cause real headaches later
