|
|
I'm wanting to get back into boarding next spring and was checking out this board at Sun N' Ski:
http://www.sunandski.com/Hyperlite_Men_s_State_Wakeboard_w_Remix_Binding_12_p/0852056841215.htm
I have ridden in the past but I am old and fat now 6'0" 185 lbs. I plan to drop and I am wondering if a 145 will be too long. I intend on carving and keeping the board on the water for quite some time next season and then transitioning into another board. Suggestions, that is a pretty economical setup? _________________ ----------------------

| I'm right about the same size and i ride a 142 most of the time. If you are just going to be riding around on it buy it. Sounds like you have a good plan. |

A 145" board would definitely be too big for just about anyone. 145cm, now that's a different story.
You should be fine even if you lost some weight. You might find when you really start working on tricks the weight and size may hinder you a bit, but at that point you can upgrade. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

Thanks guys, and ya 145" would be a little extreme- lol. I am thinking really hard about going for the LF Trip 142 because I love the graphics and it isn't QUITE so long.

My birthday is Labor day and I actually thought about heading over to WakeZone by Edmond to try this sucker out! Either of you been there? I just want to roll around and carve- can you do that without all the sliders and stuff killing a newbie like me? _________________ ----------------------

A 142 might be a bit nicer. anw7405, has been to wake zone...I haven't. It is actually down near down town instead of up near Guthrie. You're welcome to ride with us some time, if you'd like. We go out on Thursday evenings regularly. Also, we do get out on the weekends pretty regularly. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

Dude, I called Sun'N'Ski and that board and bindings is on sale for $250.00! I am trying to buy it over the phone right now but they usually don't let you do that. I hope I don't miss out!
That is a great offer- I have gas money! I am a family man (turning 33 Monday) so Thursdays would work out. Where do you usually ride at? _________________ ----------------------

I ride with okie and anw. I am 5'11 and 175-180lbs. I ride a 142 hyperlite Murray so, you should be fine, but the bigger the board the more weight. So, I'd stay with a 138-142 size, but that's just me. Good luck with your decision, you'll be fine either way. _________________ just livin' man, just livin' |

while im a promoter of bigger boards, youd be best on a 138-139
id say 90% of 185lb riders ride this size. im now up to 190 lbs and ride a 139. _________________
