I'm looking to get a new boat there is a 88 sunsetter in the area with redone floors, no toweropen bow. I'm looking for any general info on it is it gonna throw a good wake? Would it be worth it to put a tower on it? The prize is 7000 what do you think?

Good boat? Yes
Good wake? Not really

1989 is when the hull changed, '88 is not a buildable wake in my experience.

For $7K look for a Nautique.

The old school sunsetters are really good boats. Especially if the floors have been redone. At $7K, you could add a tower and some ballast and have a really nice wake boat. Most guys will lay 550lb sacs on each side of the motor and really throw a great wake.

The only thing I would want to see before buying is the pictures of the floor being redone. It's one thing to redo the floors, it's another to do it properly. How does the interior look? What about the outside of the boat?

You can tell how well a boat was taken care of by the little things.
