I grew up on an I/o. Picked motorcycles and rode them for a while. I got too many so I recently traded my zx10 for an 88 prostar 190. I guess I was operating under a false impression that ALL mastercrafts were awesome wakeboard boats, or COULD BE awesome wakeboard boats. But after one weekend on the lake and reading threads on here, my wake apparently is more comparable to a John boat instead of what a mastercraft theoretically should be. So, I figure I'll be selling it in a year or so for a better one. My question would be, which boats would be optimum for wakeboarding and wake surfing. My budget will be around 15,000ish. Aaaaaaaand anyone got any ideas on how to make my 190 suffice for a year so I won't be tempted to skuddle it?

I've seen a USABLE, not good, wake out of a ps 190 but it was slammed as f*ck. Like 1500 lbs across the back and some on each side of the doghouse. There's really so many boats out there your going to have to throw us some preferences out there. For the meantime while you have that boat, ride LOTS of switch, surface tricks, carving, and practice ollies. This will greatly benefit you down the road, especially switch riding.

Pro star is a slalom boat, they want as little wake as possible. Little research would had save you the trouble!

get yourself a ski nautique 2001 1982-89 they are the best bang for your buck...but just be aware that they have wood stringers and floors so just pick wisely. other than that i would say get a late model DD nautique or malibu they are priced ok and have nice wakes

There are several older "slalom" boats that make a good wakeboarding wake...

I've been looking at the 205's. They seem pretty good, but are still 10k or above for around the same years. I saw 2000 x-5 on Craigslist for 17k.

On side note, I went out today with 300lbs in the stern and 120 in the bow, had 4 people total, and it threw a so-so wake. Not pro level by any means, but a decent start. I'm reluctant to put much more than that in it tho bc it rides so low already.

Does anyone have any experience with the indmar 351? History? Main causes of them shitting out? Etc? Links?

TellBurkett, if you want a decent wake out of it it will need a lot more weight, in my 205 we just have like 8-10 people(works out to > 1000 lbs). I've been watching for about 1200lbs of bags to add to this. Gotta slam the older dd's.
